Good compnay for young engineers to grow
Oct 28, 2014 - Staff Applications Engineer in San Jose, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Best place for young engineers to grow. Cypress forces everybody to write memos, which will help young engineer as that will indirectly forces them to learn more. ESPP price gets locked for 2 years so during shaky economy this can turn into a big gain.
Cons
Payscale is lower than competitive. New product development is more of an accident than savvy planning. Company new product idea is all about being lucky as they take hit and miss approach with 15-20 new products at a time with a hope of 3-4 products can into a big hit. If you are with a product group that misfires then it can bring serious stress.

Sep 20, 2013 - Applications Engineer in San Diego, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Outstanding compensation, great people, challenging projects, cutting edge technology, great opportunities for NCG's to grow their technical toolbox, very strong marketing team
Cons
Upper management struggles with critical decision making. Constant re-organization - I've had no less than 10+ managers in the 10+ years working here. Cutting edge technology divisions are struggling financially. Sales and Marketing team is way too lean.

Feb 24, 2013 - Senior Applications Engineer in Lynwood, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very high visibility, significant responsibility and chances to contribute to the success of the company.
Cons
The effort is rarely judged by its intended or actual outcome; it is judged by its conformance to company rules; it is ok to fail as long as the rules are followed.
