- fast pace - great coworkers - latitude for trying new ideas - recognition for work
Cons
- lower pay than other local tech/medical device companies - very high turnover . . . seems to chip at morale - many mandates - required overtime, furloughs, required 8AM in the door start time, no distance working or flexibility. does not have a contemporary tech business feel. - all of my stock options which are part of my 'total compensation package' are worth $0 at current market price. yes, $0. - low to no capital expenditure at Minnesota site - squeeze process/mfg engineers for more out of marginal equipment (see high turnover/burnout comment above). No capital plan or roadmap. - culture of delaying equipment repairs until things are really broke and then squeeze maintenance/equipment staff (see high turnover/burnout comment above) - hyper tactical management - out of date 'Focal' employee ranking system, they use a stacked employee ranking system where you are pitted against your coworkers. learn to play this game. - quarterly bonus based on 'critical success factors' (tasks or project based items). You may have unachievable goals set -or- task completion is it out of your span of control to complete. Too bad for you! often successful completion of said factors leads to effectively working overtime . . . and if you divide your hours spent by the payout . . . you are getting robbed. again, learn to play this game. - long hours for many people - but for some people, that's a pro (!) - some are not happy with new vacation policy (see mandates comment above...). If you want to save up vacation for a big trip home or other travel need - look elsewhere
