Pros
A lot of dedicated and smart coworkers. Professional workplace. Well paid jobs. Near zero politics.
Cons
Horrible management at executive level. Management lacks planning and they expect their reports to cover for their lack of planning. It is common for an executive to call you 6:00 PM on Friday with a large chunk of work that must be done in next 24 hours. There goes your plan for Friday evening dinner with family.

Great company to work for, if you like its culture. Typically you either love it or hate it, there is no middle ground.

Very data driven; lots of freedom to pursue your ideas; free access to all info within company
Cons
One man show (CEO), who is extremely smart, but can't say that about others in top management. Also, too much focus on processes, even for marketing which cannot be perfected by process.

Good Working Environment and Lot of Learning
Cons
Need to improve on product ranges
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
A company with zero defect mindset in all areas. It enables one to learn and develop in a highly disciplined manner. Lots of opportunities to rotate jobs and broaden your skills.
Cons
It used to be a place with a lot of meetings without a lot of value. Did not adopt latest and greatest platforms (digital) to improve productivity and grow the company.

Loss of personal life and professional dreams
Oct 27, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in BangaloreRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The only PRO is that you get exposed to lot of top management (VP & EVP) through review boards and processes early in your career.
Cons
List doesn't end but few major are, 1) Most of the employees (including mid level to top level Management) work to please CEO. No one has guts to even suggest (forget to oppose) the CEO decision. 2) Too much bureaucracy in form of documentation, approvals, tickets, scorecards, followups and what not. Sometimes you get a doubt whether you are really an engineer and working in technical company, because these dumb things eat up 50% of your already stretched up time. 3) Sorry you have no life here, hence no meaning to work-life balance. 4) Doesn't care about you or personal career growth. It just wants work to get done and nothing else is in their mind. 5) 'Core values' are big false propaganda. - We are the best -> Utterly false. Just think if there are teams (of 30-50 members) who do not have single paper, patent published in the whole of their career span. You will not learn anything other than your work. - Do whats right for cypress -> It is better said as, 'Do what CEO think is right'. - We make worlds best semiconductors -> Its a joke (see the portfolio of chips made by CY and consider how long it takes for the chip to come out bug free).

Great Overworked People
Jul 9, 2015 - Process Engineer in Bloomington, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
At Cypress there is a great team atmosphere of people who are willing to assist if they can. The knowledge base is huge and there are a lot of intelligent people making tough decisions every day.
Cons
Even with all the knowledge, the company is crippled with the inability to think at growing into a company who is competing in the current industrial standard. State of the art products are ran on old machines that require constant maintenance to keep above 65% efficiency. Saving a $ is top priority, saving time and stress is not a priority. "Work smarter, not harder" is said but when the smarts come out, the ideas are crushed into long drawn out meetings that end with no real progress.
