Cons

Pros
- Great work force with excellent talent - Ideal for beginning the career
Cons
- Management was highly centralized and rigid.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
A lot of dedicated and smart coworkers. Professional workplace. Well paid jobs. Near zero politics.
Cons
Horrible management at executive level. Management lacks planning and they expect their reports to cover for their lack of planning. It is common for an executive to call you 6:00 PM on Friday with a large chunk of work that must be done in next 24 hours. There goes your plan for Friday evening dinner with family.

if you work in the fab then you might still have a job, if not then it's a crap shoot.
Cons
after the merger (takeover) morale is at a all time low. people are sad and unsure of the future and middle management doesn't seem to have any answers.

Intense place to work and learn. Great support and systems, but a new mission every year
Jan 10, 2012 - in San Jose, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Excellent learning systems. Solid new product development process. Projects that start make it to production. Good recognition for creating production parts.
Cons
Upper management is not customer and systems focused; most energy is spent looking inside the company. Main result is that project launch late and therefore need huge teams to meet very aggressive cycle times. There is a lot of management interference during projects.

Pros
Meritocracy Driven. The employees take pride in the culture that was built over the years and the focus on analytical driven decision making.
Cons
A lot of adhoc work comes by from senior management and everything has to be done immediately. This is primarily due to lack of planning from the senior management.

For the Thick Skinned - They push it to the limit!

A great place to start a career in. A start here gets you ready for pretty much any challenge. Decent benefits. Very good systems - they have a structure in place for anything you can think of. Some extremely smart people work here - so a lot can be learnt. In comparison to other places, there are way fewer passengers (Collecting a pay check only for being present) - so the concept of having to motivate your co-workers doesn't have to happen often.
Cons
Where do I begin? The distinction between management and individual contributors is made apparent (rather rudely) to every one at the outset. If you are on the wrong side of that equation (individual contributor) you will be judged freely without any regard to how much the judge really knows in the matter being discussed. Inexplicably, some managers who have a history of treating their employees very poorly will never be shown the door while other very talented employees will be allowed to leave with no fuss. Thirdly, the same great systems that they have in place becomes a hiding place for some managers/directors (who make a living out of rejecting memos/specs for paltry reasons) and a severe inhibitor for any kind of progress. In other words, the systems make for busy work. The management admits to the existence of this problem but really very little actually gets done to solve this problem.
