Pros

Non-management employees are pretty cool. Data halls are nice.

Cons

Awful place to work. Terrible management, company wastes millions of dollars, ridiculous hours and workload, HR dept has no backbone and does nothing to help the employees.

Once a good company with great potential, but is now falling apart.

Pros

Great employees (those that are left), very nice facilities, excellent pay and pretty good benefits.

Cons

If you want to feel like you are drowning everyday, then this is the place for you. The CEO is either so out-of-touch or just doesn't care, but it is the most dysfunctional company from the top down. Every organization/department operates on their own set of objectives and then can't understand why everything doesn't work together. Critical infrastructure, systems, and security are all held together with band-aids and duct tape. Nothing can ever be completed more than 60%. I used to say 80%. but that's impossible anymore. The work load on employees is unbelievable and they keep piling it on. There is NO work/life balance anymore. The senior leadership chooses to invest in shiny objects and a lot of eye candy to impress customers while the internal operations is minutes, hours, and days away from crumbling. They can build a data center in record time that looks beautiful from the outside, but on the inside is a mess of infrastructure that is under-spec'd, put together incorrectly, and only completed at 60% to meet deadlines. And there is never enough time to go back and complete it to 100%. I think the senior leadership is just hanging on to get their stock awards and could care less about what is really going on internally.

Pros

Number 1 - The People! Specifically the "indians" - they work hard and continue to every day. Number 2 - it's a growing company in constant demand for people to step up and take on the next task, which is good for professional development.

Cons

The Leadership - overall the leadership is poor. The company is made up of "Chiefs" that end up battling each other, causing a toxic environment that flows down to those below. Other reviews seem to attack the two "top dogs" and I can't say I agree or disagree, as I'm not sure if they are the problem, contribute to the problem or aren't any part of the problem. With that said - I don't blame the CEO and CFO for anything more than knowing and not doing anything to change the toxicity. If you read the other reviews, most of the "negativity" comes from leadership and this I will agree with. The company has had multiple Controllers in less than 2 years to indicate significant turnover, however the current Controller has been there for a little over a year now. The most negative part about the leadership at CyrusOne is that it seems most of them were GIVEN their title due to politics and not their ability to lead or develop others. Most of the time, upper management is hired from outside the company and not from promoting within the company. The Culture - the company comes off as a company full of culture, but really there isn't any. One day it's work hard together to "get the job done" and the very next day there is a large, dark cloud over the building and every person is stabbing the other in the back. Also, CyrusOne is in constant demand of your time, making a work-life balance non-existent (or at the very least a battle to get). The Company Values - uhhh...??? to generate more revenue? CyrusOne as a company - CONSTANTLY REACTIVE AND NEVER PROACTIVE. If you want to work for a company to "buy time and pay bills" then this is the place for you. If you want a place to grow and develop then it's not. The turnover is very high - people (including management) come in and go out in the same calendar year. The compensation at CyrusOne seems fair to even high when compared to other places, but from flies on the wall, this changed when the company went public. Please know this review is to simply make those aware of what they could be heading into. You know the old sang, "the grass isn't always greener on the other side" - well CyrusOne is full of brown pastures.
