I have been working at Cytokinetics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent work culture, great benefits, competitive salaries, lots of company activities, bagels on Monday mornings and free lunch on Wednesdays.

    Cons

If you're on a diet, this place makes it difficult. There is food everywhere, freezer is stocked with hot pockets and burritos. Refrigerator is filled orange juice, milk and string cheese. Leftovers from catered lunches temp you at every turn.

I have been working at Cytokinetics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cytokinetics is very committed to the community with ample opportunities for community service throughout the year. They are equally committed to the patient populations we are developing treatments for.

    Cons

Not all areas are as collaborative as they could be.

I have been working at Cytokinetics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free employee lunch on Wednesday's.

    Cons

No tele commuting, management needs a major over haul, too many directors live the motto it has been done this way for over 16 years!

    Advice to Management

Stop expecting your employees to work 12 plus hour days all the time with nothing more than a thank you. So much for the work life balance what a JOKE

I have been working at Cytokinetics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some great hard working people striving to meet the goal of helping others .

    Cons

Not enough worker bees. To many in management who currently don't want to roll up sleeves and work. They are looking for the current worker bees to be their go to person and the worker bees don't have the bandwidth to do this.

    Advice to Management

Renew the A team. Pay attention to anonymous suggestions that a might be submitted .

I worked at Cytokinetics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    There is nothing positive here.

    Cons

very unexperienced "Senior Management" that has not experienced success for 14 years. The worker bee "A" team has all left. There is constant turnover for years for a reason - the bad "Senior Managers" are not removed. The C suite needs an over haul. This company expects you to work 24 hours a day/7 days a week no matter how many hours you have already given (over 80 weekly for over a year). The most junior biotech employees I have ever witnessed. No wonder they cant attract talent or keep it.

    Advice to Management

You are the source of all the problems. 14 years at one company without a drug on the market is failure. You cannot expect worker bees to work around the clock continuously and not be reimbursed the way you are.

I have been working at Cytokinetics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-People are dedicated on doing a good job and working together as a team to accomplish the task at hand.
-Free catered lunch once a week
-Free bagels and fruits 2x per week
-CEO has quarterly catered lunch to recognize quarterly birthdays
-People overall care about each other
-Pay is competitive with other biopharma companies

    Cons

-Would be nice to have an on-site gym but we at least get $500 gym reimbursement so that's a plus.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support the employees and be transparent. It's one of the great values we appreciate in the company.

I worked at Cytokinetics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent work environment, culture & people. It was a very familial, friendly place to work and the type of place where you enjoyed coming into work every day.

    Cons

I don't think I would have had the opportunity to grow here because it was such a small department that there probably wouldn't have been anywhere for me to go.
