I worked at D.Light Design full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

D.light has the potential to be a meaningful global brand. Unfortunately bad management has messed it up.
The ability to travel to third-world countries (which can be exciting).
    An exciting business opportunity

    Cons

D.light is a very political organization, with huge egos in upper management. This hubris is costing the company its market leading position. Competitors are beginning to eat d.lights lunch.

    Advice to Management

Drop the arrogance. It's seriously toxic. Pick a product line focus and be the best at it. Stop trying to follow the market in all categories -- you're currently losing in every product category.

I worked at D.Light Design as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Charismatic leaders with clear mission. Solid communications effort able to achieve worldwide exposure and attract large amounts of funding. Great fast-paced environment to gain experience in both regional and global levels.

On production side, weak middle management resulted in slow design pipeline, quality control issues, disappointed customers, and staff turnover. There exists a disconnect between the external customer story and internal employee culture.
