    Pros

It's very difficult to find pros that are reflective of the company. There are some really nice people working there, but the culture is toxic.

    Cons

Terrible culture. It's a company without an identity. Because of a weak understanding of how to implement and maintain a successful company culture, each location has its own plethora of broken process that they fight to keep. Constant battles between locations which slows down this giant's efficiency to a crawl. I'm convinced that if their clients were to spend a week observing the way this company functions behind the scenes, they'd go out of business. Main focus is to impress stock holders with smoke and mirrors. Everything is very slow and political. It's quite sad considering how long they've been around. Too many project managers. They over work their employees. Lowsy benefits.
I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

    Advice to Management

Make the long term commitments to fixing your companies major issues.

    DATA Communications Management Response

I am disappointed to hear your concerns about the culture at DATA. You are right about the people who work here – they are really nice. And, our people are, in my opinion, what set us apart; they are ... More

    Pros

Fairly easy going company with good co-workers. Wages are average to above average depending on your job and skill level. Opportunity for advancement

    Cons

Not much on the social activity side of the workplace. Don't expect a big Christmas party or anything like that.

    Advice to Management

More communication and interaction with employees. They are the bread and butter of your company.

    Pros

There are little pros to communicate about this company in recent years.
The people to work with in the tranches are good people and deserve to be treated better by management.

*Pro* You don't work for this company.

    Cons

The transformational initiatives put forth by the executive management have severely damaged the company reputation internally and externally. What was once a reliable and competitive solution for our clients needs, has turned sour nationwide. I realize cutbacks and tough decisions need to be made from time to time, but the cull and downsizing has gone on too long and spread too far, it became a cancer to all. Employee morale has never been lower, and new hires quickly come down to earth from the misguided propoganda that management presents. Changes in roles and responsibilites has been poorly planned and training or employee incentives for retention is almost non-existant outside of the Toronto area executive and sales force. Salaries are low, benefits have been cut back, and most new hires are at the executive level in newly created positions that seem to have little reason or ability to invoke real change to accomodate our existing client base. The stress on sales for any new business reeks of desperation and exasperation.

    Advice to Management

Treat staff better and *stop with the marketing fluff*.
Everyone in the company is an important cog in the machine.
We all work together, break down the departmental barriers, and train train train your staff.
