I worked at DATATRAK International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

With the new leadership Datatrak currently has in place, the growth and potential in the SaaS for Clinical trials has untapped potential in that industry. Reliability, real-time data, cloud computing, user friendly, and customized to each clinical trial, no matter what the drug or trial protocol calls for.

Datatrak's employees are a strong, united group with exceptional talents and skills that drive the company to greater heights. The environment is positive and creative. All groups work together to keep the company synergized and running smoothly.

    It's a great company!

    Cons

Old management made this company fall, but it's no longer that way. And even when it was bad, the employees remained strong and loyal because they believed in the product.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Thanks for having such great leadership running through the company in every department.

Larry Birch is no longer the CEO. His rating will be really low.
Jim Bob Ward who is now the current CEO is driving this company forward and doing awesome things to earn this company the credit it truly deserves.

I have been working at DATATRAK International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are really just two pros to working at Datatrak. The people and the product. My coworkers are remarkably dedicated, hardworking, and driven to help the company succeed. Our software product is among the best out there in the clinical field.

    Cons

The company's future is very uncertain. After a year long drop in sales, lay offs, high turnover, and a contentious board of directors election, the company feels like a zombie. Floating, waiting around for a plan from management who sits silent. The management team has no info and the new board has no plan.

    Advice to Management

    Sell!

    Pros

Can work from home/flexible schedule, unlimited PTO

    Cons

All ideas and concerns almost always die at the manager level. Little change is ever achieved. It is depressing to try to be innovative and to try to put the client first. No tools for employees to try to move forward on any project. No standardization. All issues with the company and swept under the rug and ignorance is applauded.

    Advice to Management

Honestly it is too late to save this

I have been working at DATATRAK International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, ability to work from home

    Cons

This company is run by a CEO that doesn't care at all about his employees. He cares about growing the company, but not about the resources needed to grow the company. This attitude carries over to other people in management as well. Everybody that produces something in the company is underpaid, while those that guide the company in the wrong direction are over paid - and management is left scratching their heads when people are not passionate nor are willing to put in more than the minimal effort required. This company is so desperate to compete with Oracle and Metadata and has been trying for years, but it will never happen until there is a complete restructuring of the company. It will remain stagnant, barely showing any growth, and constantly struggling to maintain market share. The same thing that has been going on in the company since the current CEO took over. Sad part is that the technology is better than most, if not all, of its competitors, yet the company as a whole is not willing to make its employees a top priority.

    Advice to Management

Manage less and lead more. There is plenty of management going on, not any leadership.

I have been working at DATATRAK International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

required work week is 5 days

    Cons

The CEO is completely detached and I would be shocked if he knew anything about our services and/or product functionality. Every department in the company (literally) is overworked and underpaid. The "senior managers" have absolutely no idea how the pharma industry functions, nor how to manage a team. Trial designers are angry, overloaded, and semi-challenged in terms of communication. The QA department officially consists on one man who will respond to your email in 6 months (if you're lucky) and one new hire who's already in over her head. The turnover rate of project managers is self explanatory. The company's internal processes are beyond ancient and extremely time consuming.
If you think you have support, think again. Everyone is beyond overworked and those in charge refuse to acknowledge it. They pray for naiveté, insecure, and desperate employees because those are the only ones that would consider staying longer than 6 months.
My intentions for this review are to help anyone considering a career here. there's much more to say, but unfortunately, there's so little time ;)

    to be continued.....

    Advice to Management

it would exceed the character limit of this field.
