I have been working at DAVACO full-time

    Pros

Team comradery. Everyone works together to complete the project on time. The travelling teams are more than co-workers, they are friends and family at home or away from home.
It's real hard work sometimes but not rocket science and leaves you with a true feeling of earning and accomplishment when you stand back and see the finished product.
Travelling is always a benefit because your motel room rent is paid plus daily per diem allowance meets and exceeds my meal requirements. When out of town, travel to and back from the job daily is provided by the company-gas and a rental van. And on weekends, because you might be missing your family and friends from home, the pay you a layover amount - enough to cover extra-curricular activities and ease the pain of being away.

    Cons

When you are on a travel team, you work a job away from home for three weeks plus, come home and see your family, then dispatched to another job and you are fairly well compensated. But then there are times when you have been on a job for 3-6 weeks with completion date in view and then you are contacted or scheduled last ,minute to travel directly to a new job from the current one you are finishing without a chance to go home in between. It does not usually happen that way but when it does, it is frowned upon for us to refuse the job. Or, you can be assigned as a local where you commute daily to a job within travel distance but your pay will suffer as you do not receive the per diem and layover pay.

    Advice to Management

The majority of people who work at Davaco are very friendly and helpful-great co-workers. Management is never perfect anywhere. Keep up the good work!

I worked at DAVACO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In this tough economy Davaco has had a decent amount of work for me. Medical and dental. Get to travel the country.

    Cons

Davaco doesn't treat it's merchandiser equally. We do not get sick pay, other divisions do. Yearly raises do not even keep up with inflation. You will sit at home for a month or two if "there isn't any work". Seneroity has has no weight. They will hire and promote new employees and keep them busy, while employees with several years in sit at home. The hotels they put us in are getting worse. Several employees have serious drug problems, yet management just ignores it. The only reason I stayed so long is because nothing else was available.

    Advice to Management

Consider your long-term employees, they have been here awhile and are less likely to bail. Random drug testing is a must. Davaco is developing a bad reputation because employees are going to work drunk or worse. Treat your merchandisers like you do other divisions. Stop playing favorites.

I have been working at DAVACO part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible Schedule, Pay is average.

    Cons

Not enough hours- Management out of touch with field workers. No benefits

    Advice to Management

There is no connection with management to the workers in the field. No reviews for performance and no job growth.
