    Pros

Coworkers are some of the nicest people you will meet. Benefits are great.

    Cons

Limited growth opportunities. Management refuses to acknowledge and resolve conflict, instead punishing anyone that brings it to their attention. Tension gets so high in some departments that it is toxic. Employees are clearly disposable, which is shown in the high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Step out of the offices and get to know your employees. Help nurture them to bring more value to the company. Deal with conflicts before they explode.

I have been working at DBI Beverage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -your day can fly
    - you could make extra money on incentive
    -get to try new beers
    - get to learn about new beers
    - weekends and holidays off

    Cons

-not enough time to accomplish what they want done
    - after a certain point you have to pay to pick up beer out of pocket
    -micro managing at its worse
-you are forced to sell in beers you know will never sell and you will eventually have to pick up
    -base pay sucks
-company is making it harder to make extra cash on incentive
    -don't take care of employees

    Advice to Management

very expensive area to live in. if you have nothing to offer employees they will leave for better jobs. you get what you pay for. long hours and little pay

I have been working at DBI Beverage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to try new beers. Your out and about. And have the potential to make additional money on top of base pay.sometime your day ends early

    Cons

You gotta buy back old beer. No lunch or break time. Micromanaging sucks. Your forced to sell beer that doesn't sell and forced to buy it back. It's hard to call in sick.

    Advice to Management

    Be more realistic on expectations.

I worked at DBI Beverage (More than 10 years)

    Pros

the business of selling beer is a lot of fun, but it takes a very professional effort and commitment to time, even on the weekends , if you want to be really successful in SALES. There are other good jobs which only require a 40 hr/wk plan, but you won't make more than $55,000 in non-management positions like a driver, warehouseman, or ,merchandiser

    Cons

every department in the company is subject to the performance of the driver/delivery team. These people form the last/final opinion of the retailer of the company. the salespeople and products are the heart of the company, but their goodwill can be destroyed by bad/inadequate delivery service.

    Advice to Management

be more aware of the hard work that goes into the physical labor that it takes to deliver beer products in difficult areas like metro/downtown routes and pay the drivers more $$ for good service on those routes.

    Pros

They give you a lot of hours

    Cons

Too much work load. Trucks go out everyday over weight. 8 hour shifts but with 12 hours of work.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as employees, and not like mindless slaves.

I worked at DBI Beverage full-time

    Pros

Free cases beer on occasion along with employee bonuses once in a while. If you are a driver you might get free lunch from the places you deliver to. Lots of overtime! Good medical.

    Cons

Hostile/ two faced foreman. The routing system is set up poorly and there are a lot of trucks that that are not safe to drive with missing interior panels and seating. shards of metal sticking out in the cabins. Beer barrels should not be loaded higher that your chest in truck. Contract is getting worse.

    Advice to Management

calm down and stop barging through the warehouse ready to kill someone. No more cocaine!

    Pros

Steady pay. Fast paced never boring. Good co workers are very hard workers and are very loyal. Great benefits, medical, dental, vision and 401k. Very clean and tidy work environment.

    Cons

Corporate, just a warm body in a seat. Far too many work arounds, systems are peiced together, no standard operating procedure, mostly fly by the seat of your pants direction, systems communications do not work very well. Boring work not very fulfilling. I sat in my car many mornings dreading going into work. By far the worst job I have ever had.

    Advice to Management

You have a lot of unrecognized talent under your noses and micro managing them just makes them want to look elsewhere for employment. It's coming a mass exodus is looming. Just before summer rush people will leave.

    Pros

Meet some good people. Pay slightly below average. Company sells some good product. Nice perks to ball games & concerts. 401 k is nice if you have been with company over five years.

    Cons

Very poor and un trained management. Good old boy club is not going to work in this day in age especially in CA

    Advice to Management

Hold on tight. Plenty of lawsuits coming your way.
