    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Free coffee, decent pay, and free food from vendors, some good coworkers, relatively easy work, free codes and standards books, half days on Fridays (assuming you get your work done), knowledgeable PEs and PMs, pretty good training, ITs are there for any computer issues

    Cons

Overtime is normal, working on weekends and holidays is normal, a lot of travel time almost every other week, coworkers frequently slamming on their work desk out of frustration, server maintenance can sometimes screw with the projects (but this didn't happen all that often), architects constantly change the floor plan and thus you have to replace everything, 10 hour days just *click click click* on the computer (if you want a job here, it would be good if you are a field technician that specifies things for the engineers so that you're not stuck in the office), some people stay in the office until 2AM or even 4AM from what I've heard from other coworkers.

I have been working at DBR Engineering Consultants full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I like my coworkers. 1/2 day on Friday (but longer days M-TH).

    Cons

There are so many! Super, super high turn over. Probably because management doesn't care about or seem to appreciate the employees that are actually producing the work, and it shows. You are expected to work more than 40 hours per week, if not, you run the risk of being replaced by someone that will. For some reason this is more important than getting your work done efficiently. There is also some gender biased. Let's just say overall culture and morale is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Employees spend more waking hours working hard so you can make money than they do anything else. It wouldn't hurt to show a little appreciation every once in a while! A "Thank you for your hard work" goes a long way. Make us feel appreciated, not like we are easily replaceable.

I have been working at DBR Engineering Consultants full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

DBR is a family. Competitive salaries, great benefits, and opportunity for growth.

I began my career as a designer, worked hard and quickly advanced to a design engineer position and then became a project manager. DBR has been able to offer me a wonderful career and I am very grateful.

DBR has seven office locations in Texas and continues to explore opportunities to expand and create advancement for its employees.

The projects at DBR are more diverse than what any other MEP firm offers. Projects range from small tenant build out projects or equipment replacements to 600,000 square foot new office buildings or $417 million dollar manufacturing facilities.

Whether you are attending a DBR social event, happy hour, golf outing, or competing on the softball or bowling team, there is always something exciting to participate in while working for DBR.

    Cons

Training has been a concern in the past. Management has listened to its employees and has developed its training programs, educational binders, and department meetings to help improve employee training.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in your employees and they will grow and prosper with you.

I worked at DBR Engineering Consultants (More than a year)

    Pros

-Great starting learning experience especially for new grads.
    -Decent insurance benefits.
Great place to start your career, but don't stay any longer than two years. There is not much room for career development. Get in, get your experience, and get out.

    Cons

The pay is not as competitive as other firms.
Very fast paced, hostile, and stressful environment. A lot of favoritism goes around and this company has a huge turnover rate. Every other month an employee is either let go or an employee quits just like clockwork. Go on DBR's website and you will see constant job positions open. It is expected for you to work more than your normal 40 hours or you're seen as lazy.

    Advice to Management

A better training program is desparately needed. Pay more attention to the happiness of your employees.

    Cons

I did everything I was asked to and more and I had a good attitude and but as soon as I told them about my pregnancy, the soon let me go

    Advice to Management

You should not let anyone go because they were honest about being pregnant, because honestly it could have been hid from you, but because I thought you all were good people and I saw a future with your company, I informed you that I was pregnant and thats when everything seem to change, yes I did notice that it did change. So for future reference please be fair in your decisions.
