I have been working at DCCCA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly staff and great benefit plan. The management is flexible and the working environment is very accommodating to employee's needs.

    Cons

Many employees have decades of experience so very difficult for advancement opportunities.

    I worked at DCCCA full-time

    Pros

Working with foster families and their kids was wonderful.

    Cons

Management is incompetent. Was harassed, gaslighted, and micromanaged. They finally fabricated a story that could have been threatening to my license so I left immediately. Don't even think about working there.

    Advice to Management

The CEO is very capable but beyond that, every manager in CPA needs to go, most are not qualified to lead people.

I have been working at DCCCA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible work schedule
    - Work with some good people
    - Work with kids
    - Really good benefits (though insurance does not cover several common birth control options)

    Cons

    - Not all policies are spelled out in the manual and you can get in trouble for things you didn't know you shouldn't do (they do give warnings though)
    - Work late in the evening due to kids being in school

    Advice to Management

Write down all the policies in detail. The current policies online don't spell everything out, and that leads to confusion.

I worked at DCCCA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Only Pro is if you live in Lawrence.

    Cons

95% women - Very little men work at DCCCA and new hires do not last there long
    No room for advancement
IT is not valued and no acknowledgement of a 'good job' is given
Raises are seldom given and there is always an excuse as to why you weren't receiving one
There is never a shortage of work and travel time doubles monthly due to lack of support staff and constant turnover due to poor upper management.

    Advice to Management

Value your IT staff more and praise them for a job well done

I worked at DCCCA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Okay management, loved working with my foster families. Dccca strives to do everything possible to help foster families but not their employees.

    Cons

Underpaid, overworked, terrible hours. DO NOT TRY TO WORK HERE
