I have been working at DCI Biologicals full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is a fast paced production environment where you get to meet a lot of people on a day to day basis.

    Cons

The paet of the public you are dealing with os the poverty stricken, the homeless and helpless. Some of them are okay, some are rude and mean

    Advice to Management

Hire more staff as soon as possible. The work load currently on the employees that have shown loyalty is way way too much

I worked at DCI Biologicals (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hour lunches, break room, convenient location

    Cons

The pay is horrible, especially for a job that involves so much risk. The people you work with are not quality people, and are content with this dead end job. Management is not concerned about the well being of the employees, they actually yell at employees in front of the doners, which I find to be highly demeaning and unprofessional. There is a very high turnover rate. They'll hire anybody, which makes sense because Taco Cabana pays more. There are no values in this company, they do not care about you.

I have been working at DCI Biologicals full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits package with PTO and sick days

    Cons

Stressful environment, management seems to overlook gravely disturbing behaviors in some, while being overly critical of others. Management bias seems to lean toward the worst employees favoring the worst behaviors. Scheduling is only put out 3 days in advance of work week. Pay starting barely above minimum, employee turnover is about 80%.

    Advice to Management

Consider paying substantially more, and you will retain staff and recruit quality workers.

Management are too inexperienced to be in their positions,
Supervisors abuse power and frequently harass employees below them,
Cross training raise can take up to 6 months to receive with no back pay,
No recognition or praise for good work,
No opportunity for advancement without personal friendships with those higher up
    Management bias

    Advice to Management

Recognize feedback from lower employees, better background checks for potential hires, better investigation of abilities before promotion,

    Pros

Benefits are OK, monthly bonuses are a plus, Some centers may run better than the one that I worked in but the head manager of my center had a high school diploma and no management skills whatsoever.

    Cons

Upper management has no idea what is really going on at the donation center level. The pay is awful, they are hiring phlebotomists, receptionist, and lab techs at MINIMUM WAGE, and thus have sub par employees.

    Advice to Management

Pay better and you may acquire better employees with loyalty to the company. You simply can't expect employees who are willing to work hard when you are only willing to pay min. wage.
