I have been working at DCM Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent bonuses, free food both weekly and monthly, make your own schedule, never work weekends, comfortable dress code, great coworkers

    Cons

Stressful, fast paced, pressure to hit both monthly and daily goals, some managers difficult to work with, no bonuses if goals not met

    Advice to Management

Consider promotions based on performance and not tenure. Some employees get away with breaking many rules purely because of tenure

    Pros

    Flexible hours
    Free food occasionally
    Paid training
    Bonuses

    Cons

Must adhere to 40 hour work week, even if your circumstances don't allow you to
Strict rules and laws to follow
Constantly having your goal raised to the point where you can't hit it
    Clique-y

    Advice to Management

They say they care about their AR's but they don't really show it.
Don't promote people who haven't even proven they will stay (they haven't completed their 90 days yet) and will do a good job.

"They miss a lot of opportunity by being too money hungry and not employee focused"

I have been working at DCM Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Casual work environment and fun co workers. The benefits are pretty good but get more expensive as the years go on not that it's unusual. The CEO is very personable, he will walk around and say hi and check on everyone. There really are some great people at this company. Free lunch once a month, free breakfast a couple times a week. Ability to wear jeans to work. Nice professional building in the best buy campus has good amenities.

    Cons

Low wages are not in line with twin cities wages. Employees are robotic, expected to work, no socializing, no cell phones, no internet access, not very family focused. Even during 3 feet of snow they expect you to come into work and make money regardless of your own personal safety. It's money money money all day everyday nothing else matters. There is absolutely no moving up in this company. You will be a debt collector forever. You may change job titles but it comes with no increase in job responsibilities. At least 8-10 new employees are hired every few weeks, the turnover rate is one of the worst I've ever seen. A lot of office drama because the hiring pool has no standards. Management has absolutely no regard for employee happiness or a suitable work environment.

    Advice to Management

The working environment is unhealthy. Employees are unhappy and feel trapped in a box all day. If you want to improve our employee relations, make the expectations reasonable. Management is never held accountable for poor decision making and the backlash falls on employees. Your turnover rate is horrible. One of the worst in the industry. Start asking your employees why they won't stay and actually listen.

    Pros

    perks, nice bldg, free food

    Cons

Management is very messed up. They will lure you in making it sound like a great place to work. You will start out as an Account Rep and they make everything sound grand. Soon you will learn that you are tied to the phones and need to follow extreme rules about what you can say as there are a ton of rules regarding compliance. You will be told when you can take a break and monitored constantly. No cell phones allowed. It felt like a prison to me. They will hired anyone and then if after several weeks of training they will let you go if they feel you won't be a great debt collector. Please do not waste your time with this company.

I worked at DCM Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The company offers a lot of perks: casual atmosphere/dress, flexible schedules for a majority of the entry level "Account Rep" positions, competitive pay in most departments, a good culture (a work hard, have fun atmosphere), decent bonuses, and a fairly competitive benefits package. At one time there was a lot of room for advancement while it may seem less so now, don't let other reviews fool you...it's always been about what you accomplish; if you work hard, are professional, resilient and demonstrate an interest in growth - you will be recognized and rewarded. Finally, the best thing about the company is the people - they are phenomenal!!! It can be like a family if you want it to be!

    Cons

After the founder(s) left (2007-ish), leadership started lacking at the executive level and the lack of vision and focus over the course time has seeped into the middle management. Stress levels can rise when client requests and demands overwhelm the company (kudos to middle management for keeping this from getting to the front lines!).

    Advice to Management

You have an opportunity to create a phenomenal place to work; just remember that people are your primary asset and that the services the company provides need not be compromised by (sometimes unrealistic) client demands.

I worked at DCM Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, most people very friendly, bonuses for account reps are decent, monthly lunches/breakfasts, flexible schedule for account reps.

    Cons

Inflexible schedule for non-ARs (meaning you HAVE to drive in Minneapolis' rush hour both ways every day), if you don't hit your goal and get no bonus as an AR you barely make a living wage. Definitely some cliques and people to avoid.

    Advice to Management

Be more in touch with your employees - no one takes an AR job because they WANT to. Help them be successful and find ways for them to move up. Or at least say "good job" once in a while like my manager did.
