    Pros

Great people, very friendly and helpful

    Cons

I worked at DDB Worldwide Communications Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

DDB is known for hiring nice people, and for the most part that is very true. At least true of the people who have been at the Agency for 5+ years. The culture has in fact improved over the years which was nice to see as an employee who had been in New York for many years.

    Cons

The "niceness" is starting to take a back seat with the new, younger hires. Also, their are too many internal processes to get anything done in my opinion.

  4. "Great company"

    Pros

Smart people, everybody working hard to do a good job.

    Cons

Teeny tension when different departments think their toes are getting stepped on.

I worked at DDB Worldwide Communications Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to have a terrific corporate culture -- really cared about the employees and the quality of work. They made you want to do your best

    Cons

Things really went downhill after the original old guard left. New management was only concerned with making money (mostly for themselves) and trying to be a "hot" agency -- which they never could accomplish. Lay off after lay offs while upper management kept being promoted and . Not unique to DDB Chicago at that time, but still sad to witness. So many people with real heart and soul who were purged so that fresh new ideas (which never did succeed) could be introduced.

    Advice to Management

Figure a way to get back to your roots and give people a place they are proud to say they work at. So many of us who got let go were happy to leave a sinking ship.

    Pros

What helps make this best agency for creatives is that every great ad you create get sold because the account folks and clients are so very smart.

    Cons

It is totally impossible to talk about any condo when I worked at DDB years ago because this agency treat their creatives as super stars.

    Advice to Management

Keep loose and flexible hours and get even more out of your creative people.
