I worked at DDCworks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

"Cool" office, casual dress, music on Fridays, beer cart, fun office parties and events, lots of free booze...

    Cons

The Managing Partners. The Founding Partner/CEO is a great guy, which makes it even more confusing that the people he decided to go into business with are so heinous. But as they say, you are the company you keep. The Managing Partners asked very personal questions of their employees that could be deemed inappropriate. They demanded that you "friend" them on social media accounts and if you didn't they would barrage...

    Advice to Management

I doubt they think they need advice - nor do I think they would receive any!

I worked at DDCworks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Innovative, collaborative shop. Lots of diverse and interesting clients and projects. You'll never get bored. Opportunity to grow and learn new skills if you are willing to listen. Core team is pretty strong. They seem know where they are going.

    Cons

Hit hard in recession. Lots of changes were made and not all worked. Was a period of high turnover and poor morale. Now there are too few people doing lots of jobs - some things get missed. New business growth takes much longer to win (but that seems like an industry trend right now).

I worked at DDCworks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This group knows how to have fun. Culturally/socially they are great. They throw fun parties. And majority of the employees are talented, hardworking people. This team is also very collaborative when it comes to initial brainstorming. They embrace the concept that a good idea can come from anywhere.

    Cons

Past the brainstorming phase and it's all downhill from there. They are open to initial ideas but once the partners get their own idea, it's their way or the highway. Management seems to have the inability to give their employees ownership over process, jobs and accounts. This causes an extreme disconnect in the process and ultimately a weak product/outcome. I have also never seen such high turnover in all my years in...

    Advice to Management

Take time to figure out the strengths of your employees and use those strengths to better your business/creative product. Turnover is not the solution to your problems.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at DDCworks full-time

    Pros

Open and collaborative. Flexible to personal situations. They are trying to build something and are open to ideas from all employees. Relaxed atmosphere. Good resources. Some great people.

    Cons

Feels like a startup still trying to figure some things out. Too much turnover. It feels unorganized like the structure and processes are still being developed. Partners aren't always in synch. Not always enough work. May need to create your own career path.

    Advice to Management

Make better hires. The turnover is due to hires that were not a good fit. They lacked either experience, maturity or the proper skill set and didn't want to be pushed or held accountable.

    I worked at DDCworks full-time

    Pros

Experience - some good, mostly bad. You'll learn from it all, though...

    Cons

They demand all the loyalty in the world of their employees, but give none whatsoever in return. Fire people on a regular basis, sometimes even have the audacity ask them to keep working there after they're already fired or to train their replacement. What a joke. Terrible place to work, terrible treatment. If you even make it to a one year anniversary, you probably hate your life and are interviewing elsewhere regularly.
