I worked at DDI (Delivery Drivers Inc.) (More than a year)

    Pros

DDI is the big mother company based in California. They have many many advertising companies who are based in many states in the USA. I worked for one of them, called 2GoServices, which has contract with roughly 200 restaurants around Seattle - Bellevue - Renton - Tacoma areas. People are nice. Robert Bennett (the owner) is a really nice dude and he will help you with anything you need. The company provides thermal bags, jackets, utensils, etc. but not the car. You either need your own car or you can rent out 1 of their cars for $50 a week. Overall a good job to do during your down time.

    Cons

Money is NOT consistent. Though there are lots of restaurants and orders, sometimes it seems no one wants to order and you might have to sit in your car waiting for 2 hours for a lousy order. AND, lots of cheap people who think $1.00 tip is enough. Some don't even tip. You will be surprised! And 2GoServices won't do a thing to help out. I used to work for another delivery company in the same area and what they did was calling the customers who didn't tip and ask if the driver did something wrong or was the food ok on arrival. That way, the customer get customer service and most of the time they will tip. 2GoServices don't do the same thing so when you don't get tipped, you're screwed.

Also, this is a delivery driver position, so expect to be very busy during peak times (Lunch and dinner times), then very slow in the between. You will have 3-4 hours down time between lunch and dinner hours. Be prepared.

If you use your own car for the deliveries, you will rack up around 60,000 - 75,000 miles on it a year on average. If you rent out their car, its $50 a week, and sometimes, it's a whole day at work to earn that $50.

Again, if you can't find any other jobs that have a stable schedule and pay at least $10 an hour, then do this. Robert seems nice and he will take in almost everyone. BUT, if you can find a full time job that pays at least $10 an hour, by all means, do that, don't do this.

    Advice to Management

Call the cheap customers who don't tip and customer service them. Most of the time they will feel ashamed and tip the drivers. I don't think $1.00 or $0.50 tip is worth it for times when drivers have to driver 10+ miles to deliver an order.

    Pros

DDI is a fantastic company! We have actual employees who work here in the Irvine office and then there are self employed drivers who hire DDI to handle their Accounting and Insurance needs. Some of the reviews on here say they are for DDI but are actually should be directed to the Restaurant Marketing Service the drivers partner with.

    Cons

None that I can think of!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Very nice staff and knowledgeable people that you can learn from. Very dedicated CEO.

    Cons

Not enough recognition for your work and they do not value employees as much as they should.

    Advice to Management

Please revamp some of the processes as they are not modern and really cripple the company.
