I have been working at DEA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The vast majority of DEA personnel are tremendous. Agents, Analysts, DIs, and PATCOs, take care of each other, in spite of the crap that comes out of DC, the lame leadership there, and the few oxygen thieves that live among the warriors. DEA personnel are true believers in the mission and will sacrifice greatly for the American public. In spite of the Cons and Advise below, being a DEA Special Agent is the best job in the world. Most Special Agents will tell you that they would do the job for free.

    Cons

The absolute lame leadership in Washington, DC are all about lawyers, compliance, hugging addicts, and making slugs feel "happy, happy, happy". However, with the "resignation" of the worst of the them, Acting Administrator "Chuckles", and the soon to depart, Acting Deputy "Rob the Hassa", warriors again have high hopes that we will be given true leaders to join the fight.

    Advice to Management

To ALL of the 12th Floor in HQS: Leave. Retire, go away. You are no longer relevant and have inhibited the good work of patriots for too long. Make room for a true leader to arrive and bring with him/her a team of leaders who want to win the fight.
