I worked at DENSO as a contractor

    Pros

Denso in Maryville, TN is a stable company with great benefits.

    Cons

The hiring system for Denso in Maryville, TN, at least for Production Associates seems to be, generally, to hire somebody who already knows someone working at Denso and/or to hire someone who is minimally qualified as possible so there is little chance of them possibly moving on to another job and/or company in the future.

    Advice to Management

Hire and promote based on merit.

I have been working at DENSO full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

40+hours. Checks don't bounce. Plenty of overtime.

    Cons

Management doesn't care about associates. Pay rates not up to market value.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates and see what they have to say. Promote from within instead of looking to the outside on positions for advancement.

I have been working at DENSO full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you want overtime you got it! They have a rec center

    Cons

If you expect a fair pay raise wrong company been there 22 years and have approximately $2.00 pay raise after they made us start paying for our insurance. Right now we are looking to try to get a union in the shop..avoid this place if you want a great job!

    Advice to Management

Actually respect your associates and take their input to heart instead of ramming changes down our throats then making more changes when the first fails!!

I have been working at DENSO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is decent and the benefits are good. Plus there is tons of overtime available.

    Cons

some Management will stab you in the back by telling you one thing and doing another. Plus, if you are not qualified for the job, they will still make you train someone who is qualified. Basically, you do not get raise, but train someone else who got the raise and knows nothing about the machine.

    Advice to Management

I would give advice, but management will not correct it anyways, so why bother!

I worked at DENSO full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is not that bad for the area. There is better but harder to get jobs. They will hire pretty much anyone.

    Cons

    Poor management
    Lose benefits every year
Not the place it once was.
    No work life balance.
Production works for support departments instead of the other way around.
Does not follow it's own policy of overtime notification.
Probably 10 different work schedules. Everything from 7 1hr shifts. To 1hr rotating shifts. They squeeze every minute they can out without regard for employees.

    Advice to Management

Try to plan more than a hour in advance. Follow all polices not just the one you need at a specific moment.
