I worked at DFS Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A truly multi-cultural environment will 1st-tier talents from the industry. Very structured and visionary company, CEO is awesome!

    Cons

Remuneration packages can be very different for locals vs expats, race matters more than competence and experience. Hierarchical organisation, one decision would take 10 cross-functional meetings and perhaps 8 senior management to approve, and that also result in power struggle and office politics. It is a highly political organisation.

    Advice to Management

Lean organisational structure. We don't need that many VPs.
Please also hire people who can really do their job instead of hiring them because of their nationalities.

Diversity of staff and customers, travel, lots of opportunities to learn, opportunity to influence policy and procedures worldwide, good benefits, great people, intercultural learning, make friends for life

    Advice to Management

Value and cherish your great employees, help them grow, they are your business lifeblood, how you treat staff is how they'll treat customers
