I worked at DHG full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great benefits, great people, lots of runway ahead

    Cons

Some teams are better than others. Some leaders can play the bully role too well and employee growth is driven by the employee, not by the leadership.

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye on Advisory. Listen to the people at all levels.

There are a few individuals who receive a higher workload than others, you will work a normal 60-70 hour week during busy season.

I worked at DHG full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Free coffee, vending machines, catered lunches and the ability to work from home.

      Cons

Management hired me for a skill set but quickly had me performing work that was outside of our agreement. The work hours that were discussed was 50, but it was frequently more (and we were pressure to “do what it takes”). Management shows little initiative to teach and frequently forces lower tiered employees to “own” projects with little instruction. Hostile and stressful most times. Opinions and suggestions...

      Advice to Management

Be honest with your associates from beginning to end. “Open communication” isn’t open if the employee feels that their voice isn’t valued.

      I worked at DHG

      Pros

Tons of free food, standing desks, nice laptops

      Cons

Zero training, unrealistic hour expectations four months straight out of the year, overburdensome technology, catty office environment

      Advice to Management

Hire more people! The company could easily solve the problem of people being overworked by hiring extra people, but they won't because that will cut into their profits.

I worked at DHG full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

They provide a lot of CPE to new and existing staff. Most employees below manager level are fun to work with. You sometimes have the ability to work from home depending on the time of year.

      Cons

Management consistently tries to operate at a minimum staffing level to maximize profits. They are aggressive with when you can and when you cannot take time off and you often have to explain what you want to do with your time off. Charge hours are monitored on a weekly basis and you can expect to get called out whenever you don't meet your scheduled chargeable hours for the week even though you may be on track for or...

      Advice to Management

Stop limiting the time that employees can take time off to 3-4 months out of the year. Hire more people. Stop burning out high performers with heavier workloads and spend more time to develop underperforming staff.

I have been working at DHG full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

DHG is a very professional work place, which offers a lot of opportunity for growth and advancement. DHG has an excellent client base and the partners have an open door policy, which encourages collaboration and learning.

      Cons

You need to know what your niche industry and career goals are at the very beginning of your career with DHG. Staffing issues and frequent turnovers require longer hours from those who stay.

      Advice to Management

Continue mentoring and challenging your staff

      I worked at DHG

      Pros

Clients and your coworkers are awesome. Clients generally need some tidying up on the accounting side, but are overall very good.

      Cons

Partners can't make decisions, lack of communication, no transparency into decisions, "bookends" on pay...supposedly.

      Advice to Management

Move to local management, give partners actual authority and decision-making abilities

I have been working at DHG full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

The staff are great. The work is interesting. The hours outside of busy season are pretty reasonable.

      Cons

There's a lot of pressure and it has gotten worse in the past year or so. It feels like upper management wants to be a big 4 and that mindset is being pushed down.
