I have been working at DHG for more than 2 years

    Pros

I don't feel like just a number here. They proactively invest in their employees to make sure they are able to best represent themselves and the company in a very competitive market.

    Cons

As is expected with every consultant opportunity, you need to be flexible to travel at a moments notice.

    Advice to Management

Truly enforce work - life balance and life beyond numbers. They're doing a good job so far, just need to continue to enforce.

I worked at DHG full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - family-style office - stepping stone role - talent pool lacking so easy to stand out

    Cons

    - incompetent, power-trip senior managers/directors - promises incentives for employee referrals, then finds any reason not to pay - bonus pool was <1% salary - back office projects - HR does not deliver communications on timelines promised prior

    Advice to Management

Management decisions for the Risk Advisory Group have been dissapointment after disappointment. Withholding payouts for employee referrals for various reasons. Firing individuals with no documentation of poor performance but simply because a senior manager/director have power-driven issues to compensate for incompetence. A bonus pool that is insulting. Promise work life balance but senior managers coerce to eat hours....

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at DHG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The firm has a good referral bonus program

    Cons

The firm needs that bonus program because they can't retain talent. They'll gladly pay you $6k to refer one of your friends in, but put in the least possible amount of effort required to keep you around. Want to do Regulatory Compliance, IT Audit, IA, or Finance Transformation? Don't bother with this place. They'll lure you in the door, or out to the client site, and then bait and switch you faster than you can say...

    Advice to Management

Quit saying one thing and doing another... or double down and keep mixing up the Kool-Aid. Does management even care about the things they read in this section? You should pay royalties to Larry Tesler. Had this guy not invented the copy & paste functions, you'd have no work to staff employees on.

I worked at DHG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The firm is very "family" oriented. Easy to make friends when you start (and senior leadership expects you to make friends at work) The amount of work is reasonable and you will not work more than 50-55 hours a week The office in uptown Charlotte is nice and you are provided with resources to succeed Smaller firm and you will know almost everyone who works there More interaction with high level partners DHG knows...

    Cons

The firm is very passive aggressive. Leaders avoid any confrontation or direct feedback This is not a consulting job, it is a high level auditor position- you will pre-auditing to ensure companies are in compliance before the "actual" auditors arrive Company does not like Type A personalities, as the firm is very Type B- they prefer heads down people who aren't going to overstep the clear boundaries The company wants...

    Advice to Management

Don't advertise a consulting position because you will get Type A management consultants who work differently than CPAs. Make sure you are clear you want auditors who are creative, not consultants who will work in compliance. Don't be suggestive with opportunities that are very unlikely.

I have been working at DHG full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The people are great, helpful, and are understanding. IF you have things to do outside of work the respect that and know that you will still get the job done.

    Cons

The office I went into had a different culture, which was great and that has now begun to change as we grow due to other offices.

I have been working at DHG full-time

    Pros

More reputable than Insight Global or other staffing firms The Firm pays well to get you in, but raises and bonuses are microscopic. Matt Snow is great

    Cons

Limited growth potential. Key talent has recently departed the firm due to lack of response from senior leadership. Viewed by clients as a staffing firm and not a consulting firm. Terrible communication Attendance is taken daily when unassigned Expected to use personal network for the Firm's gain

    Advice to Management

When employees are treated poorly, the client gets treated poorly. It is only a matter of time. Stop treating employees like dogs.

I have been working at DHG full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Focus on work/life balance holds true. Great in between for Big 4 and smaller regional firms.

    Cons

More interaction between management and staff. Sometimes feels like you are on an island when out at a client site
