I have been working at DHG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

DHG does a great job of creatively rewarding employees. There are endless programs and new offerings for employees to further their careers, enjoy better benefits and stay connected, despite being a large company.

    Cons

Being a larger company, it can sometimes be tough to feel plugged in to the happenings around the firm. Decisions are often laden with endless approvals, but this is improving.

    Advice to Management

Continue to understand your employee base as it evolves and grows and work on trying to stay nimble as a mid to large size company.

I worked at DHG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very friendly, smart people who care about your long-term success within DHG and beyond Tons of opportunity to grow and learn Client interaction early on once you demonstrate that you're ready

    Cons

As with any company in the industry, deliverables are driven by deadlines, so there are going to be some late nights, but nothing too bad

I have been working at DHG full-time for more than a year

      Pros

The culture here is amazing! From peers through the different levels of management, everyone I've met is incredibly friendly and down to earth. Management is very supportive of your goals and really listens to ensure your needs are met and that you are able to grow as an individual. The work is challenging and never boring. DHG works across several industries and does a huge variety of different audit and consulting...

I have been working at DHG full-time for less than a year

      Pros

DHG is a very employee focused company that cares about helping you advance your career while providing outstanding customer service to clients. They provide excellent work/life balance and the management is always willing to help you on your career journey. From the day I started, I could tell the team and company was much more personable versus other larger companies where I was just another employee. DHG has also...

I wouldn't necessarily call this a con, but the work can be fast paced at times which isn't for everyone. Some may prefer a slower paced, monotonous work environment.

I have been working at DHG full-time for more than a year

      Pros

DHG has many lines of service, and I work within Risk Advisory Services (RAS). Prior to DHG, I worked in Internal Audit at a large bank in the Northeast, and I've been able to utilize those skills through a number of different engagements. RAS does a mix of Internal Audit, IT, and consulting work, so there's always an opportunity to learn something new. DHG's slogan is "Life Beyond Numbers," and it holds true....

I have been working at DHG full-time

      Pros

My experience in Risk Advisory Services (RAS) at DHG has been nothing but positive. On my first day, I was immediately made to feel like a part of the team and given the chance to contribute meaningfully. Since then, I have been given real chances to grow professionally, rewarded for good work, and impressed by the organization’s open communication at all levels. I have enjoyed the chance to work in multiple industries...

Risk Advisory Services (RAS) is not always top of mind when others think about DHG; however, with the Firm's recent growth (and forecasted continued growth) in this space, I see this changing.

I have been working at DHG full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Consulting at DHG has provided me several opportunities to grow my career in the financial industry. I have exposure to different departments at large financial institutions, help grow the firm's relationship and stay on top of new and developing trends within the banking industry. At the same time, DHG is a certified great place to work, and senior management listens to the wants and needs of employees. Compensation...

I worked at DHG full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

I learned a lot of technical skills at DHG. Most of my supervisors were pretty laid back. The CIO is kind of uptight. It must be that he has a lot of stress due to the partners always breathing down his back, nevertheless, he could have been more of an advocate for the technology staff instead of always chasing the laser light that the partners use to keep him spinning. Most of the experienced guys there when I arrived...

      Cons

One of my supervisors was "micro-manager of the year" during the time I was at DHG. We lost a lot of very capable IT engineers due to micro-management in the IT Department.

      Advice to Management

Get some new blood in your top and mid-level management structure. Put people in charge who actually CARE about people and not just how profitable your bottom line appears!

I have been working at DHG full-time for more than a year

      Pros

The recruiting process I had coming into the firm years ago was superb! It took 2 weeks from applying to receiving an offer. Introverted firm filled with (mostly) really nice people – who seem to genuinely care about helping their clients succeed. When you ask people how they’re doing, a typical reply is “Good. And I hope you are too.” The firm’s leadership comes across as forward thinking and pretty transparent....

      Cons

It’s a medium-sized firm (e.g. 2400). There’s not a lot of career mobility if you’re not a client-facing professional. The lack of diversity in the firm overall. There are pockets of diversity: e.g. the New York office – because..well, it’s new york. The Health Care practice. Many areas in HR. But in the Tax & Assurance areas, it’s still VERY vanilla. The technology situation is abysmal. Every day we receive...

      Advice to Management

I believe the only way to improve diversity is for Hiring Managers to demand that the Talent Acquisition team ensure that candidate slates are filled with at least 50% diverse candidates.
