I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time

    Pros

Always expanding. Frequently opens new stores.
The interview process sometimes involves multiple managers, which is great if you fail on the first interview. As a part time associate, you can become actively involved in merchandising projects the longer you stay. Base pay is competitive, and raises are based on evaluations at the end of a fiscal year.

    Cons

Management gets stressed sometimes, and typically expects full-time commitment even though you are a part-time associate. Stressful managers will vent frustration on associates, but this is not always the case. The equipment is very, very, very, very difficult. Price scanners crash often, and resources for merchandising and signage are limited.

    Advice to Management

Remember the associates who run your store.

I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to advance in the company, flexible hours, great benefits, usually good with giving you the amount of hours you want

    Cons

Work hours around holidays can become a bit much ( you can have a shift from 2pm to 12am on Friday and then get a 7am - 3pm shift on Saturday)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!

I worked at DICK'S Sporting Goods full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Developed merchandising, marketing, and sales skills.

    Cons

Hours, not enough authority over team you manage/train.

    Advice to Management

Management seemed to have high turn over. There were times I had to train my boss. Know more than your employees.
