I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Hours are very flexible
Managers are approachable and easy to talk to, always willing to answer any question
Easy to get time off when needed, even at the last minute (like for a last minute doctor's appointment)
    Relaxed environment
Not overly demanding when it comes to pushing the rewards card (just a simple mention of it is plenty)

    Cons

A bit more training could help
A new walkie system could definitely help
Computers can be very slow at times, which doesn't help when helping customers with online orders

    Advice to Management

Invest in more training, new walkies, and new computers. All three would go a long way.

I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good teammates
    Too many college kids coworkers
Lots of drama among the staff and management

    Cons

Management is a little too harsh.
Discount is on the lower end.
Sales prices are the same as the discount.
Sales AD advertises for things just marked down not actually on sale, not fair to associates who work there. They deserve more of a discount.

    Advice to Management

Be nicer to your team. Be more encouraging. Be harsh but with softer words. Do not encourage talking down to others.

    Pros

They will definitely work with your schedule, especially if you’re going to school. Work culture is great as everyone seems to get along well.

    Cons

They cut hours pretty often and even the full time employees are affected by this.

    Pros

The people that work there are amazing and I made great friends and memories there.

    Cons

I dislike that they make you, as a cashier, shove the Scorecard in customers' faces and your performance is based on how many use the Scorecard, or sign up. It does not seem fair to me.

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding and courteous of cashiers and the stress they are put under with the Scorecard.
