I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I like most of the people who i work with.
I learn new things every day.
My managers know what they are doing.
I get to engage with people and stay active my entire shift.

    Cons

Some employees are very unhelpful and unreliable.
Training is a bit lacking and we need to pick it up as we go.
I have a completely random schedule every week with only a few hours on average.

    Advice to Management

Find good employees and give them more hours while doing away with the associates that frequently don't preform or show up to work.
Also allow employees to assist the leads/management more so they aren't worked ragged.

I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company that has continued to grow through the challenging sporting goods retail brick and mortar market. If you enjoy being competitive this is the place to be.

    Cons

Constant change in the retail environment has created the negatives as the company has fought hard to stay profitable. This can cause, at times things to get a little stressful and even overwhelming. Build a solid team and you will make it through anything they can throw at you.

Work life balance depends on your skill as a manager and your boss.

    Advice to Management

Remember where you came from and dig your roots. Don’t back down and keep fighting the challenges ahead.
