I worked at DICK'S Sporting Goods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Kind people to work with, environment encouraged being active - you could take workout classes during the day and it has a great gym, competitive salaries, average benefits, strives to encourage work/life balance, training and development classes on premise, there is a University of Pittsburgh on-site MBA program that the company will pay 50% of if you remain with them three years after completing the program.

    Cons

The corporate office is far from the city if you want to live in the city and commute, the environment can be at times stiff - very corporate and professional, you have to own a car to work there, remote work is frowned upon in many departments

    Advice to Management

Need to promote/hire more female leaders in upper management and senior executive roles, allow more flex work - remote work and flexible hours. There's a demographic shift of people moving into urban centers. You will lose this talent opportunity if you remain in Coraopolis and do not allow flex and remote work.

I worked at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Pays well, benefits are good

    Cons

Tend to maximize hours of people that can work anytime. Putting a bigger work load on those workers.

    Advice to Management

Company has better product on website than what's being put in store. Doesn't do much to compete with their competition, just tries to sell off of store reputation. That puts a lot of stress on stores to meet goals

    Pros

It has a very high turn around, and the opportunity for advancement is slow and barely non-existent.

I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good team environment. And fun store to work with. 25% discount is more than a good benefit. Fun store to work at.

    Cons

Minimal pay doesn't cut it. Hours could be more as well. Employees carry the store, they deserve a little more lovez

    I worked at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time

    Pros

Employee Discount varies by store, food for working long hours depending on shifts

    Cons

Department you are hired to will not be the only one you learn. You will be responsible for learning almost all positions, so you can work more departments without having to be paid more. If you are taught how to work cash register beware you will have added pressure to perform or fired quickly. By performing sign up customers for credit cards.

    Advice to Management

    Ease up on the micromanagement
