    Pros

Just saw a post about Discovery Education and I have to say that this has not been my experience at all. Inspiring work. Hard-working colleaguess. Open leadership. It sounds as though the previous post may have been a disgruntled employee or former employee. Couldn't be further from the truth. I've been her close to 5 years and have never loved a job more.

    Cons

It's a job with a lot of travel. You have to know that going in.

I worked at DISCOVERY EDUCATION SERVICES as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great brand and have built a smart dev team in the past year

    Cons

No one is happy. They can't keep talent. Great plans are laid out, then some exec named bob squashes it all on your Tuesday morning. It's so demoralizing. I literally had panic attacks from the stress and dysfunctional environment. The upper management and product development team have no clue how software development should work. No one in upper management has any sort of tech or development background. It's sales and nothing else, disguised as "ed tech". Attend a "division meeting", you'll see and quit by week's end. Stay away.

    Advice to Management

    Give up.
