I worked at DKNY full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some people are really nice and can pick up some contacts

    Cons

Very hard to move up and get promoted within. The departments are very cliquey and in my time there, I have seen inexperienced people get manager and director roles just for being friends with others in charge.

There is a lot of problems and frustration with the transition and nothing is getting done. The company got rid of a lot of talented people and who knows what the future has for DKNY.

The HR department really doesn't care. When you let any of them in the department know what's wrong, they just go to your supervisor and tell them what you said. It will take a long time to get a response from them and whatever complaint you have will just go back to your supervisor. Honestly, they will provide no help which is really bad compared to other HR departments I have dealt with in other companies.

    Advice to Management

Really recognize your employees and follow through on action. Every review I had was excellent and there were goals on them. Every year, none of them were every fulfilled by the supervisor or the HR department. Those same goals were just added on to the next year.

I have been working at DKNY part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The store manager is willing to work with your schedule and cares about their employees.

    Cons

there is no 5-7 min grace period like some other employers. you MUST be on time or else you will be sent home.

    Advice to Management

Ask your employees what they think about the product and allow them to wear some of your sportswear so we can sell more product. Some product looks better on than on the hanger. You might just convert that in and out shopper just because they glanced at what your associate had on.

    Pros

It was easy to collaborate with other departments thanks to the relatively small corporate teams. Strong history; Donna is iconic. Opportunity for professional growth, but...

    Cons

little room for vertical mobility. Most management roles available were usually sourced externally. The company's interest in investing in employees for the long-term comes into question.

I worked at DKNY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As of now, I can't think of anything positive about working for the company. The former employee benefits have been scrapped after G-III's acquisition.

    Cons

Cannot stress how much of a mess this company is. Drove out all talented creatives due to horrible upper management, an unhinged CEO (who has now left), and incompetent HR. Became so bad LVMH dumped the company on G-III, who are gutting all that is left. Beware.

    Advice to Management

Get your resumes in order, I guess? G-III cleared house.
