I worked at DPI Specialty Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None to mention. Benefits and pay are not to scale for area. Insurance is employee friendly.

    Cons

So many to name, but lets just call out the most important, Upper Management. They are not knowledgeable and quite back handed in their actions. This company has its head not knowing the direction of the company and rely on lesser roles to make or guide those decision which put them in a precarious position. Way to many back door schemes and plans that hurt the individual buildings. If you are an employee there protect yourself because after you burn your self out they will tell you great job, but have the knife behind their back ready to cut so be prepared. Have an exit plan or don't work there at all.

    Advice to Management

Advice to parent company, BLOW IT UP, and start over and get better, more knowledgeable management heads to run your business.

    Pros

The pay was pretty decent when I started. The office employees and warehouse employees were great. I really enjoyed working with my Co workers. HR is useless and corporate was a joke.

    Cons

Do NOT have a child while your employed by DPI. I had complications with my pregnancy and my son needed surgery. Got "laid off" two weeks after I had my son. Lay offs have been happening since 2009 and from the other reviews, looks like they are still happening. Also they changed the insurance before I left. When I started the insurance they offered was great. When I left I had over $23k in medical bills.

    Advice to Management

Women have babies, sometimes there are complications.
