    Cons

Product launch= 80 hour weeks. Too many temps.

    Advice to Management

If you use temps- they have to be temp to perm or you get the bottom of the barrel.

I worked at DRÄXLMAIER Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Tons of overtime if needed
Some of the co-workers are super helpful and friendly
    Clean work environment
Some management was very understanding and considerate of emergencies
    Pay was decent

    Cons

No room to move up if you don't know who to talk to
    High turn-over rates
    Over-looking great employees for promotions
    Lots of nepotism
    Poor lack of communication
More often than not management is rude and very aggressive when talking to employees i.e. putting blame on everyone instead of fixing the few who are repeat offenders and slackers
    Back room politics
Hiring from outside sources before looking internally

    Advice to Management

Communicate better and respect people. Don't talk to someone who has been working 12's 7 days for 2 weeks in a row like they are beneath you or don't deserve your time. Promote more from within and reward hard work with praise and better incentives than a lazy pizza party.

I have been working at DRÄXLMAIER Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Co-workers are great people to work with.
    Benefits are great.
There are still some supervisors & managers who genuinely care about their people

    Cons

Hours are long, due to local customer driven schedules

There is no relationship/communication between management and the people who actually make money for them

    Too much Politics

    Turn over

    Advice to Management

Instead of picking and choosing who you'd like to speak to, when "Communicating with employees," at least say hello to any random person you come across, even when just walking through! Or crack a smile.

Turnover has never been as high as these last few years since I've been at DAA (10+ yrs). It is not because of the economy, either, like it has been mentioned. It's because DAA has lost its family like culture, where everybody felt like they wanted to come to work with their coworkers and were proud of what they did for their company. Now the company seems as though all it cares about is money, money. They work their employees like their employees have no life outside of work. People use to want to come to work at DAA, and would hope that they would be hired by DAA. Now, people come and go like nothing. Maybe my second advice would be, change the work environment at least, if work hours aren't able to be changed.

    Pros

Great people who generally care about others. Every company has a few rotten apples. Innovative. Expanding and provides a lot of growth potential for hard workers.

    Cons

Automotive is stressful and the local customer drives the business. Work force in area is limited due to all the other companies. All surrounding manufacturers are facing this challenge

    Advice to Management

Continue to care. A company this size always has complaints, however Dreaxlmaier is known as one of the best. Those who leave always want to come back.

I have been working at DRÄXLMAIER Group (More than a year)

    Pros

Fluid opportunities for advancement within 1-2 years of hire.
Dynamic environment that favors strong leaders.
    Definite job security.

    Cons

Very fast paced with somewhat of a leadership vacuum and little process support for changes. There is a very reactive mindset to change and there is a culture of on the fly fixes to problems instead of proactive detailed planning.

    Advice to Management

Force teams to plan to a responsible level of detail and hold those accountable for ownership of processes.

I worked at DRÄXLMAIER Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

Team - based atmosphere, opportunity for relatively quick movement into management. While I interned at Draexlmaier, I was able to seek out and pursue the projects that I wanted to work on in addition to those projects they had outlined for me on my first day.

    Cons

The wing that I worked most in was extremely loud, resulting in some damage to hearing after long exposure while measuring parts for Capability Studies. While PPE was provided on-site I noticed that the designated area for quality techs, where I spent most of my time on the production floor was right next to high pressure water systems that functioned like pneumatics and was extremely loud.

    Advice to Management

Management was top end and focused on their goals more than balancing corporate goals with operations goals on the production floor. The location served as corporate headquarters for North America so the mix of operations on site and Foreign Corporate leaders was interesting and gave the feeling that said operations were not top priority.
