    Sometimes a slower pace, communication could be better along with staying on path.

    I worked at DS Services of America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Good benefits, Vacation, 401K plan, OK pay once at top commission rate

    Cons

    High turnover rate for Route Operations and Sales positions. Poor managment at field level due to constant churn of employees and lack of training. Poor entry level pay and long hours. 12-15 hours per day is not uncommon for new hires. Senior managers are afraid of their own shadow as many have either been downsized or reassigned to other useless positions.

    Advice to Management

    Senior managers from the Regional Manager level to CEO are not in tune with the frontline staff. They spend countless hours focusing on cost cutting measures and finding ways to squeeze more EBITDA out of a declining water sales trends and selling low margined products that nobody wants. Pressure to sell these useless items has forced many employees to cut corners to avoid the wrath at check-in. The company continues...

    - Good benefits - Very flexible company

    Cons

    - Advancements are based on who you know not what you know - Employees off the street come in making more money than employees that have been with the company for years. - Management positions are often given to outsiders - Annual raises are little to nothing

      Good Benefits. Co-Workers were honest, hard working.

      Cons

      CEO, CFO out of touch and brash personalities. Company is ran like the good ole boys club and totally mismanaged. You can't do your job because you are too busy chasing rabbits for management.

      -Excellent pay -The frontline (route drivers) are great people -Good benefits

      Cons

      -Sales managers have no idea what they are doing. They have never been in a sales position in their lives and have no clue about the sales cycle. -No one wants water coolers in their offices/homes anymore, only filtration. -There are too few filtration techs to service the huge territories they have. -Too much "proccess" in place to try to get pricing to a customer. Takes days, sometimes weeks before you can get them...

      Advice to Management

      Nothing is going to save this company from itself but a complete reorganization from the top-down. Middle management must be replaced with people who have been in sales positions. Commission structure and quota's must get overhauled. The competition is much more organized.
