        Freedom, Variety in product, Work is at your willpower, making money come as long as you want to earn it.

        Hard job, always fast pace, unpaid duties, fleet service, IT dept behind in technology. Long hours short lunch break. Comissions need raise

        I worked at DS Services of America full-time for less than a year

        Pros

        The benefits were about as good as it gets, 401k health, dental, vision. Good water, good products to up sell as well

        Cons

        Working with sub standard trucks and equipment, the toll this job puts on a body is very hard. If you get a bad route, customers that don't pay, work load is to much for one person for some routes, very long hours and pay doesn't equal the time put in

        Pros

        The pay was good if you worked a good commissioned route...

        Cons

        Upper management sucks, long hours, they treat route drivers like no body even though they are the ones that bring money in for this company. They have no respect for their drivers. Things are always changing! No one can ever give you a straight answer to a question.

        Advice to Management

        Have more respect for the guys that make the money for this company, if it weren't for them you wouldn't have a company. Your upper management needs more training.

        I worked at DS Services of America full-time for more than 10 years

        Pros

        Good benefits, Vacation, 401K plan, OK pay once at top commission rate

        Cons

        High turnover rate for Route Operations and Sales positions. Poor managment at field level due to constant churn of employees and lack of training. Poor entry level pay and long hours. 12-15 hours per day is not uncommon for new hires. Senior managers are afraid of their own shadow as many have either been downsized or reassigned to other useless positions.

        Advice to Management

        Senior managers from the Regional Manager level to CEO are not in tune with the frontline staff. They spend countless hours focusing on cost cutting measures and finding ways to squeeze more EBITDA out of a declining water sales trends and selling low margined products that nobody wants. Pressure to sell these useless items has forced many employees to cut corners to avoid the wrath at check-in. The company continues...
