I have been working at DSI Security full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Environment was laid back. Management certainly didn't micromanage. It was all I could do to even get them to contact me.

    Cons

Low pay. Left me to run an entire account by myself, despite being a supervisor, not a manager.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your people. Taking care of simple and necessary requests like pricing out more hours to the client, ordering uniforms, etc. Goes a long way in keeping your good employees.

    Pros

The job doesn't require must. Only requires you to focus and be patient. Never a problem dealing with customers.

    Cons

The drive is too far and the schedule it's subject to change work without notice at any time. On call 24 hours.

    Advice to Management

Very flexible with a reasonable notice. Easily adapts to new work environments.

I worked at DSI Security full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Pay- Decent for the location. Could be more due to workload.

    - Vacation after one year- 40 Hour Check given upon 1 year anniversary.

    - Insurance- Eye, dental, and health.

    - District Manager always there- Whenever I needed to speak with her, she was there.

    - Slight Advancement

    - Recognition

    - Overtime

    - Shifts- 8 Hour.

    Cons

High Turnover Rate- Guards left due to pay, better jobs, and getting fired.

Uniforms- Ugly and sometimes not the best for the location. Summer and winter uniforms? Come on now, should not have to wear long sleeves in 85 degree weather.

Client-Contractor Relationship- Client says they want this done, but then DSI says no. Need to come to an agreement on what needs to be done.

    Advice to Management

Need to have a mutual agreement between DSI and client. Workers will see the disagreements and it will hit them the hardest.

Try to consider the workload for your guards at each site.

The higher-ups seem to have this perfect vision when it comes to client locations, needs to reevalute that.

I worked at DSI Security full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to perform job tasks. Set schedule for the most part. Monthly paid training sessions. Great atmosphere to work in.

    Cons

Low pay scale... Dictated by client. Security contractor bids and gets awarded contracts like at universities, schools, and hospitals.

    Advice to Management

Conduct investigative efforts better. Let site managers supervise staff. Less micro management with microscope feel. Listen to staff wants/needs. STOP focusing on bottom-line. People, families, experiences, and emotions are what matters! Workers are who make you look good or bad. Work with the employees and not against them. Trust in your staff. Believe in them and back them up. If not for them.... for the sake of the company please. Abide by the company motto... DWYSYWD which is "do what you say you will do". Allow constructive criticism and feedback in a more open setting/environment. This is not the military or law enforcement people!

Good people, management really tried to do the best for their employees. Uniforms are better than the old button up style and allowed to have beard

    Cons

The pay was the only bad thing for me.

    Advice to Management

    More pay, better people.
