I worked at DSI Security full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to perform job tasks. Set schedule for the most part. Monthly paid training sessions. Great atmosphere to work in.

    Cons

Low pay scale... Dictated by client. Security contractor bids and gets awarded contracts like at universities, schools, and hospitals.

    Advice to Management

Conduct investigative efforts better. Let site managers supervise staff. Less micro management with microscope feel. Listen to staff wants/needs. STOP focusing on bottom-line. People, families, experiences, and emotions are what matters! Workers are who make you look good or bad. Work with the employees and not against them. Trust in your staff. Believe in them and back them up. If not for them.... for the sake of the company please. Abide by the company motto... DWYSYWD which is "do what you say you will do". Allow constructive criticism and feedback in a more open setting/environment. This is not the military or law enforcement people!

Bad Management, Hiring process can take up to a month. Bad Pay. No Benefits. HR doesnt care about officers. No places for advancement.

    Advice to Management

care more about the officers that pretty much are the ones that keep your company running since your regional and district managers dont respect or care about officers.

I worked at DSI Security full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company was okay. My hours weren't so great starting off, but ended up with M-F day shift. Very flexible for my personal life.

    Cons

No money!! No money!! I worked with the company for 5 years and I didn't get no one raise. Never late for work and I never got into trouble/written up for anything. Company never did let us know that they lost the contract. We had to learn from the current company. That is what hurt the most. It's like we weren't worthy enough to know that. You didn't give us a chance to remain with company at another site or anything. And still to this day, not a word from them. Now i'm starting all over with a new company. 5 years gone completely down the drain.

    Advice to Management

Show interest in your employees. We are more than just bodies there to cover a shift. Give our employees notice of when you're losing a contract. Offer more money. We do matter!
