I have been working at DST Systems full-time

    Pros

Most people are great to work with and flexibility.

    Cons

Executives do not care about tribal knowledge acquired through time and let tenured employees go without caring about the impact it might have in ongoing projects. Amongst many others...

    Advice to Management

Support employee growth, be more empathetic towards employees, do something about employee morale...

I worked at DST Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits. Relaxed dress code and lower pressure work place.

    Cons

Frequent layoffs and restructuring. Consistent flow of new vps and cyclical changes to structure of departments. Management were very introverted and micro managers. No effort to develop staff or culture. Technical training was terrible. You basically sit at a pc watching a video for 8 hours then take a test. Not a modern training system at all.

    Advice to Management

Put money into creating a modern engaging training platform. Put money and effort into building a culture where employees want to stay.

    Pros

This review is re: the Health Solutions branch.

    The paychecks were regular.
    The 401K matching was good.
The DST Systems stock grants were excellent.

    Cons

Things started to go bad about the end of 2015. They forced everyone to take a cash payout of their accumulated vacation days. Then they eliminated the option to roll unused vacation over to the next year. Then they eliminated sick days by combining them with vacation days. Remember, it's a use-it-or-lose-it system now, which results in a rush of people all wanting to take December off at the same time.

    Pros

There are so many opportunities to grow and move up in DST. They have several different departments you can enhance your career in.

    Cons

I do not like how all departments do not have proper training, including those in higher management.

    Advice to Management

Management should have more communication with their employees.

I have been working at DST Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers, racially diverse, updated facilities, located in bustling city environment, lots of internal opportunities to move around

    Cons

Health insurance not competitive, regular overtime for at least half the year, wellness program not useful, constant tech issues

    Advice to Management

Reduce exorbitant administrative salaries to provide better health insurance and fitness subsidies to employees. Stop running short staffed to cut costs; this will improve employee work quality and productivity
