I worked at DTI full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are multiple way to advance in the company. If you work hard and document your achievement during reviews you will be rewarded for it, raises, bonuses, traveling, benefits. Plus the environment is pretty interesting you can be place anywhere in the city at any company that DTI is available.

    Cons

Its hard to say, maybe in a contract situation where it is a short period of time at that particular site some contracts last 3-4 years. Then at renewal time some other company may come in and take over if DTI can not obtain the contract. Pretty disappointing because you could be out of a job if not hired on or chose to move to another site.

    Advice to Management

Hire exprierence workers that have the drive to help the company and not just maintains it. Keep dedicated employees that have tenure with the company that have shown exceptional costumer service.

I have been working at DTI full-time

    Pros

Cool people, great supervisor, nice office, company continues to grow

    Cons

Health benefits are bad, work continues to pile on without reciprocal pay, structure grows worse as they get bigger.

    Advice to Management

Trickle down more pay to equal the workload increase, as well as structure better

    Cons

No one is paid what they are actually worth.

Do not give employees merit based raises. Corporate politics

    Advice to Management

Give your employees raises based on Merit rather than some BS corporate model

I worked at DTI (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours are flexible. The pay was better than other discovery contractors. The co-workers were all pretty friendly. Sometimes the managers brought in lunch.

    Cons

The manager would frequently walk outside his office, walk up and down the room to observe what people were doing. We would get emails that constantly complained about people having desks that were too messy, food too smelly, perfume/cologne too strong, etc. The work was supposed to last 4-6 months and ended after 2.

    Advice to Management

Design a better layout for workers (we worked at long tables, only half a foot next to the next person), be honest about how long the project will last (there was a court deadline we didn't know about.

    Pros

DTI is an up and coming company. If you like outsourcing and are in the business then they are just as good as anyone else.

    Cons

They are growing faster than they can handle their size.

    Advice to Management

Communicate better when you take over another company.

I worked at DTI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Upper management was really nice and seemed to genuinely care about growing their employees, and a great base to understanding work in an professional office environment.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the compensation was below par in the industry - most competitors paid more. The health benefits were average, but not too bad. Perhaps the largest con is the inability to grow within the company. While you gain great experience, there isn't much (if any) room to move up - only out.

    Advice to Management

Continue caring for you employees and being personable and following through with your promises. Hope it continues to grow through the hard work that has been done.

I worked at DTI as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team of attorneys with excellent contributions due to varied backgrounds and levels of expertise.

    Cons

Project Managers with more focus on numbers than quality, preferring to make more clean-up work for themselves at higher cost to the client. The "mean-girl" click is really unprofessional and unpleasant to work with.

    Advice to Management

Ask team members what they think about the working conditions, desperate people with a little power, being in charge of their peers, can make terrible leaders.
