    Pros

    The people are super nice. Work atmosphere is very pleasant. Offices are nice with lots of space and light.

    Cons

    People tend to micro-manage themselves and each other into a state of paralysis for fear of making a mistake.

    Advice to Management

    Loosen the death grip. Mistakes can be learning opportunities. The sun will rise tomorrow, so don't sweat the small stuff.

    Pros

    Technology is very interesting, especially if you are in to audio.
    Enthusiastic people who really know their stuff.
    Relaxed atmosphere.

    Cons

    Management was directionless. Projects could trundle on with no real idea of what was required. There was a lack of customer involvement.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in new methodologies.

    co-workers are great, smart group of people that work extremely hard

    Cons

    management is horrible. HR is blind to how managers treat their employess or don't care. And worse with acquisiton. Acquisition ='s lay-offs.

    the wrong folks were laid off

    I have been working at DTS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    I work with a great team. (Makes all the difference!)
    Flex schedule. Some departments allow a flexible start and end time.
    Occasionally permitted to work remotely from home. (Dependent on department manager)
    Great cross-team collaboration.
    Recent acquisition by Tessera is very promising!

    Cons

    Our competitors offer better benefits.

    Advice to Management

    In order to attract and retain top talent, get creative in finding new types of benefits for employees.

    I worked at DTS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Most of the non management staff is nice and experienced and the recruiters/HR tries really hard both here and on LinkedIn as a great place to work in there postings but don't listen!

    Cons

    Bullies in upper management with no CE experience always looking for a scapegoat. I left after a few months of a horrific work experience and even reached out to the VP who was just as bad. Listen Just don't work here they attract talent with huh pay and then will look to fire you! Just take my advice this is not a good place.

    Advice to Management

    LEAVE. I honestly hope after the purchase that everyone in upper management is replaced. You have all disruptive many workers lives and home situations and you should be ashamed.

    I have been working at DTS full-time

    Pros

    Most people are really nice, work hard, and are very smart. Compensation and benefits are good. HR is working to improve the culture at the company.

    Cons

    The company is run by bullies, who frequently scapegoat underlings with no valid reason so that they can maintain their position and not look bad. Lots of yelling in meetings, very little listening. Many egos just trying to gain power holds. HR runs fantastic programs to improve the culture that are largely ignored by those in positions of power. Very top-heavy organization with little structure to advance within. There have been three re-orgs in the last year and a half, no time is given for a new org structure to find its footing before it is changed again in either a desperate attempt to improve performance or in a power struggle. No career paths are mapped out, little mentoring is given.

    Advice to Management

    Top management needs to change either literally by being replaced or by adapting to a less dysfunctional and more inclusive and collaborative methodology. Get out of the ivory tower and

    Pros

    Easy working days, short hours, decent pay, good co-workers and management. Work was not hard or stressful, got dirty most days

    Cons

    unorganized, lots of traveling without compensation for gas or parking, very little comminucation and tons of expectations
