I worked at DYONYX (More than 5 years)

    Pros

DYONYX is a great company that treats its employees very well. The executives are very kind and get along well their employees better than I have seen in any other company I have worked for in the past. DYONYX is a great environment to work in, everyone is very kind and are welcoming to new hires and it is easy to develop relationships with your co-workers as well as the executives. I enjoyed my time working at DYONYX and know that it will be tough to find another business like this one.

    Cons

There are no downsides to working at DYONYX. It s a great company that stays on task and gets their work done in a professional and timely manner.

I worked at DYONYX full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They try to be family oriented, kind people for the most part. CEO seems to be a good guy who means well.

    Cons

Managers poorly trained if at all and are not held accountable. They have too much freedom manipulate and change rules when convenient to them.

    Advice to Management

Clean house. Look for natural talent in your employees, there are a lot of people there with vision, ideas, and advanced degrees that are not being utilized mainly due to intimidation.

    Pros

    Family like work atmosphere
    Holiday potlucks
    Open door policy
    Friendly co-workers
Quarterly town hall meetings with management
    Matching 401(k) program
    Direct Deposit

    Cons

    High turnover
    Massive layoffs in the past
Too focused on oil and gas clients
CEO is now sales manager instead of running the entire company full time

    Advice to Management

Diversify our clients, so we are not so heavily influenced by one industry.
Other then that, I have not nothing else at this time.

    Pros

Lots of work to do. Never get bored.

    Cons

Not enough employees to share the load

    Advice to Management

Fire middle managers. They are a waist of space.

I have been working at DYONYX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay itself is decent if you don't have many IT certifications.
The job is good and simple.
Some coworkers are excellent and skilled at what they do.

    Cons

The management is purely reactive. Anything that occurs is never dealt with before it has a chance to create a problem. One in particular is completely worthless and lacks integrity. Any time a situation comes up where she might have to take blame, she passes the buck to an innocent analyst.
Some coworkers will try to subvert you at any turn.
Useless, incompetent employees are kept on while top analysts are managed out or fired (not laid off ).
You have to play politics to keep your job and stay out of trouble. Constant worrying about losing your job. Manager doesn't listen to concerns.

    Advice to Management

Chuck: Your management team, on the whole, is incompetent. Evaluate them. There is no room for error when you are dealing with people's livelihoods. These people that you allow management to fire or lay off have lives, too.

I have been working at DYONYX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Handful of qualified employees still present. Not all company benefits have been removed. COO and Controller are the only managers who know what they are doing.

    Cons

Family members who don't work. 7+ rounds of reduction in workforce over last 2 years. Retaining non performing employees. No 401k match. No merit increases for 2 years. Long hours. CTO has no idea what he's doing, probably because this is the only company he's worked for. Nothing is confidential, HR.

    Advice to Management

Words of advice from Einstein to Dyonyx- " INSANITY- doing something over and over again and expecting different results." Chuck- It's not working

    Pros

Interesting projects, work with a good team. Executive management is working hard to get in touch with current employees and make improvements.

    Cons

Business has been slow, which has affected promotions and other opportunities. This has created some low morale, but is hopefully just a temporary situation

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees. Bring in some fresh projects and opportunities. Promote from within to your loyal employees who are sticking by you.

I have been working at DYONYX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

DYONYX has the potential to become better. There have been many changes especially in our department which is finally working with a good, efficient team.

    Cons

I agree with some of the other reviews regarding having processes (and sticking to them). It also gets disheartening when you are busy all day and you are busting your behind and working additional hours every week to make sure everything is done (and not getting paid because you are salary) and you see people come in at 8, 9 or 10am then leave at 4 or 4:30...or when you see people walking around and talking throughout the day or continuously "work from home" but take forever to respond to emails...etc. I work from home occasionally but I document every single thing I do so that there is no question. I also think there are people here (in management positions) who are unprofessional and lack integrity, but that is my opinion based on personal interactions/experience with them.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice but I will ask how and what the company will do to keep the employees excited, motivated and innovative...especially with all of the cut backs, lay offs...etc. Also, try to remember those of us who sometimes work 50-60 hours, not because we want to, but because we are working to meet your deadlines (and working with a bare team). We may be "back office" but we are just as important as employees who provide services.
