I worked at DaVita full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Fun environment
Benefits are okay... I was fortunate to have a good doctor; Barbara LeBron. However, once I was referred to other specialist I was not that impressed.
    No charge for parking.
    401k match

    Cons

1). Very Poor Management / Leadership Team
2). High turnover in staff. My first month an entire dept was laid off w/prior notice, a year later A/P received notice of layoff about 9 mos out, Aug 21, 2017 several teammates laid off in various depts./roles and day 2 will take place 8/22/17.
    3). No work/life balance
4). Uneven/ unfair assignment of executives to assistants. Some had 6, others have as many as 7 while others have 1 and those with several are the first to have more added and asked to assist in other projects outside of their primary responsible.
5). Poor increases and bonus IF you even received one at all. .58 cent increase will never be noticed and $200 bonus taxed at 48% wow. Insulting .
6). Very wasteful company, fly to various locations for one day meetings versus setting up video conference, fly out candidates for interviews, pay for hotel and food expenses at times candidates cancel money is wasted due to non refundable tixs. They celebrate everything, storage room full of snacks, providing food and snacks for interview candidates who does that. Fly new hires out to a 2- day event out of state called DaVita Academy providing hotel and all expenses etc. very wasteful. All these monies could go towards staff retention; i.e. bonuses, raises etc.
7). Company does not support growth within.
8). Mgmt. team is in mtgs DAILY back-to-back ...how can anyone be productive if they are always in meetings. No time to deal with staff related issues either. They don't even have time to take a break or lunch so of course they order in lunch for that meeting held during lunch time (wasteful). Managers leave late arrive early no family time.

Not a good company to work for on the corporate side. I cannot speak for the medical side.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training to your management team with focus on managing your staff prior to promoting versus just their primary job. Communication is key to good morale and happy staff. Keep in mind fairness is key and be watchful over other staff prior to adding more work to those you know will do well otherwise you will lose your good teammates. No one wants to work hard all year long and not be rewarded with a decent increase and bonus while your manager receives a bonus large enough to split with entire department. At the end of the day we are the ones that make those managers shine and be productive in their role.

I worked at DaVita full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is a good ideal company culture. There are opportunities for training.

    Cons

    Progress can bottleneck quickly.
There can be cliques and if you're not in one, you can be edged out.

    Advice to Management

Be more realistic to people about progress

I worked at DaVita full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free food, great people, game room/ zen room

    Cons

You get paid far less than what you're deserved. Management keeps piling on work to your already existing work. It is definitely not worth the free donuts.

    Advice to Management

Get better management who actually have higher degrees. Why are people with masters and PhD's working under people who barely have a high school diploma?

I have been working at DaVita full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Coffee, free donuts first Friday of the month, sometimes fun activities during lunch, safe CBO location, teammates are friendly

    Cons

Low pay, favoritism is rampant, leadership retaliates and are not professional, teammates do hard work but glory is stolen by management, opinions are demanded but beware of your job security if you give it to them, mistakes continue to repeat themselves, leadership makes promises they don't intend to keep

    Advice to Management

Arrogance is not appreciated by teammates, promoting unqualified and inexperienced teammates just makes senior leadership look like they cannot handle new ideas

I have been working at DaVita full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Onboarding team, teammates, the facility, location, and coffee.

    Cons

The company takes advantage of the Patient Account Specialist. The job duties and workload are for "Analyst" yet do not compensate. Management will over work and bully teammates that are not favorites. Tons of favoritism and leaders would ban together to push out hard working colleagues. Managers are never around and make bad choices. When they are around they use foul language during meetings, leaders belittle each other, never prepare for their own meetings (then starts cussing), look half awake, and comes in late every day to avoid the team. No professionalism and makes teammates feel uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

Higher up needs to get involve and see what's going on. There needs to be a REAL anonymous survey taken for all supervisors and managers. The last survey given were direct from emails to the director or manager, which does not allow teammates to tell higher up what is really going on. Look awake and be involve with the team. Stop doing the blame game. With all the changes going on we need real leadership, guidance, and not report cards.
