    Pros

    Cons

None yet that I have seen but will update at a later date if any Cons arise but it is a job and nothing is perfect

I worked at DaVita Medical Group part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Rewarding working with patients who really need you. They provide quarterly continuing education meetings that give great info.

    Cons

Too heavily push you to meet arbitrary lab benchmarks that are often skewed by outliers, especially if you have a small clinic. You have phone calls with corporate each month where you have to answer why your numbers do not meet goals....for example why all your patients don't have an albumin of 4.0. It's pretty ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating numbers. Let your clinicians treat the patient as a whole. If you have a patient who is otherwise healthy with an excellent albumin of 3.9, you are stupid to be pushing expensive protein supplements on them just to try to get your clinic goals met by bumping the albumin up to 4.0!

    Pros

Renovated office is a nice environment to work in.

    Cons

Rampant cronyism and nepotism. Dishonest and untrustworthy leadership. DaVita as a corporation is great from what I can tell. Local markets vary in how they have adopted the "DaVita Way" with the New Mexico market falling far short. Virtually no job security as administration jobs are centralized to Company headquarters. No opportunities for growth. Benefits are mediocre at best. Health insurance is expensive and doesn't cover much. Paid time off is pretty standard.

    Advice to Management

Work on your relations with front line staff. Hire leadership that actually follows the core values you preach. Value and utilize the talent you have promoting from within.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate why your turn over is so high.

    Pros

Decent Salary, Great People to work with, steady hours

    Cons

Poor upper management, lack of compassion to lower echelons of staff
Multiple layoffs for 2017 thus far with very short notice

    Advice to Management

All organizations will sometimes have to downsize, this is a realistic expectation. But Please remember that your business decision will impact not only your employees but their families as well. Recent layoffs were handed so coldly I am reconsidering my career path with this company now.

I have been working at DaVita Medical Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good teammates, decent salary, and low stress due to the nature of my position. I have an approachable team leader and is very supportive. The company is receptive to their employees' comments. Offers bonuses and 401K with matching. Stable company.

    Cons

No pay scale or standardization. Several new hires (new grads) get pay more than experienced employees who have been there for sometimes. Little room for advancement and salary increase. I have worked for more than 18 months before I am being considered for any increase. If I didn't ask, my salary would have been the same for 3 years. PTO, vacation, sick days are all in one pot and they don't offer a lot. Health benefits have a high deduction, from my check. It's a shame since you are working for the healthcare company, you are not covered 100% for your healthcare. The EHR is not user-friendly and has too many problems. I can spend at least 1-2 hours charting for one patient.

    Advice to Management

Improve salary scale to reduce the turnover. Increase PTO hours, health benefits.. Get a new EHR system! Don't spend too much money on the Academy.

I worked at DaVita Medical Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Vacation time add up quickly. There is a cash out pto option for vacation time.( So you can get your vacation money without having to take time off) You have every Sunday off. Fast growing business.

    Cons

Management sucks. You work long, fast paced hours with no set schedule. Hours are unpredictable, they can range from 9 to 14 hour shifts. Communication with staff is nonexistent. Heartless and uncaring management. They give horrible raises!!!!!!!!!!!!! Multiple duties and very little time to complete them. Good luck! (Plan to work holidays. They don't close.)

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff well and they will shine. If your heartless, uncaring, fake, and unfair; you'll get poop instead.
