    Pros

    Hard working team
    Learn alot about healthcare industry

    Cons

VPs and Directors that are not qualified and are in need of serious leadership training.

National Accounting and finance team will most likely go away after Optum purchase/integration so there is a sense of job insecurity.

Wild wild west..where you feel valued and good you are making great contrbutions one week and next week you dont.

No sense of a teamwork atmosphere

Will work you to death, if you let them..

    Advice to Management

Send your leaders to a leadership training, they desperately need it

    Pros

Manager was fair about time off, great coworkers, team environment

    Cons

    Micromanaging, low salary, corporate politics

    Advice to Management

Don’t hire someone for a care manager position and then abuse the fact that they have hospital experience to make them a triage nurse for almost 6 months til you find another one. I was lied to, and taken advantage of by upper management, and was forced to work in a position that I was barely trained for.

I worked at DaVita Medical Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very very good camaraderie with most of the team I worked for, including clinical staff. Benefits were decent but not stellar. Flexible schedule up to a point. PTO system worked fairly well and there was some flexibility in time off.

    Cons

Other than a few good apples that were lost in the DKC sell-off the management is completely horrible. The focus used to be directly on patient care and supporting the clinical staff which provided the best care possible to treating the clinicians like cash cows and patients like cogs in a money-making machine. Upper management in our market was constantly stressed and leaving in droves. Morale was pretty much nonexistent. I left when a new direct manager was hired(my 7th or 8th during my five years there) and treated me like a useless peon instead of a respected and valued employee. I am in a much better job now and I don’t regret leaving one bit.

    Advice to Management

Stop using the positions you have to parade in front of your teammates like rock stars. It creates the impression that they don’t particularly matter other than to make you money. Review pay and offer competitive compensation; I walked into a public sector job with far fewer responsibilities and am being paid more. Don’t hire managers with weak work histories and a tendency to leave previous positions after less than a year. Bring the focus back to superb patient care and fair treatment of clinicians.
