I worked at DaVita part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One of the BEST Companies I was able to Grow at!
I learned many things here and I'm very grateful for this and I met some really amazing people. It wasn't just a Co-Worker or Patient experience, we were family!

The company has continuous self paced and Instructor led training and an Annual Davita University, that selected employees can attend atleast once in their career. If I was offered that awesome Full time position in my area, I would still be there today! It's so many wonderful things I have to say about this company.

    Cons

A Full time opportunity as an AA, in my clinic wasn't ever in the budget.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the Great work, and continue to make each day positive!

I have been working at DaVita full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Currently taking on inexperienced people to fill open positions. Opportunity for nurses to rapidly advance into management roles. Each facility has it's own personality which can be a good thing. Lots of opportunities to work extra shifts.

    Cons

Revolving door. Frequently short staffed. 1:12 nurse/patient ratios. People are unhappy and leave after getting experience. Burn out new hires by overworking.

    Advice to Management

Streamline hiring and training processes. Work harder on keeping staff.

I have been working at DaVita full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Job security is a big reason to work here. You’ll always have a job if you want to work here.

    Cons

Davita has unreasonable expectations for its employees which leads to a high turnover rate. Long hours and a too early start time aren’t reasonable either.

    Advice to Management

Please don’t ask your employees to do the amount of work you ask them to do and the long hours you expect them to do. It leads to burnout and a high turnover rate which leads to poor morale and a burden on the employees that are left behind.

I have been working at DaVita full-time

    Pros

I love my patients. I have good co-workers who really care about our patients. I get to teach kidney classes occasionally. Immediate management cares about us and tries to protect us from upper management.

    Cons

Davita tries to con us into thinking that we're a 'village' and our highly paid CEO is our 'mayor'. We are forced to sit through brainwashing sessions and sing company songs while watching our egotistic CEO prance around in his costume.
They say our pay is 'competitive' which means they pay the bare minimum to keep people working here. Our medical/dental truly is an embarrassment. Davita has partnered with several other corporations that aggressively try to sell us products at a 'discount' and then we are allowed to have our pay docked until we pay off our debt.

    Advice to Management

Pay us what we are worth. Cut the brainwashing embarrassment. We aren't stupid. Don't let anyone who's not medically trained make policy. Consider employees and patients before profit. All managers, especially higher managers should be medical professionals, not just someone with a business degree.
