I worked at Daikin full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employees are friendly, helpful and understanding. Customers are pretty easy to work with.

    Cons

The interoffice technology is old and not up to date. They need to upgrade all of the software to bring it into the 21st century. The network is very slow. There is still a lot of paper and they need to put paperless technology into place. The middle management staff need to be hired with the proper credentials and be given training. To much micro managing and testosterone (egos).

    Advice to Management

They need to get middle management hired with the proper credentials for the job they are doing. Technology in the offices and the field needs to be upgraded to current software and technology to match the newest technology of the equipment they manufacture.

I worked at Daikin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good product - market leader - innovative products - interesting - Japanese company and very professional - Not too much bureaucracy

    Cons

still regionalised through buyout of wholesalers - Managers decide who gets what project - too much price supporting for the 'right companies' - bullying - high stress related - lack of common sense -

    Advice to Management

If a manager has a particularly high turnover of staff especially if in charge of previously top employees.... investigate.

    Pros

    Good marketing strategies.
Good product range and brand acceptability.
Proper and timely trainings given to team.

    Cons

    A lot of internal politics.

You will be embarrassed in front of juniors.

No question is answered but it gives two more questions which need to be answered.

    No work life balance.

Management believes in sitting late night and working on weekends.

    Advice to Management

Please review what going on in the system which is leading to a lot of employee movement from the company.

Kindly pay attention to work life balance aspect also as you have hired humans and not machines.

Its a job, if you can drive a forklift or clamp in that environment, you can drive it anywhere.

No bonuses, last year instead of giving employees a cost of living raise, they gave a lump sum check which was heavily taxed. Poor set up, inconsistent management. No employee recongnition.

    Advice to Management

    Happy employees make good employees

I worked at Daikin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong brand equity- AAF invented air filtration; Good people that are dedicated; Recent acquisition of innovative technology; Global reach; Parent company (Daiken Applied) has deep pockets.

    Cons

Extremely poor leadership with limited corporate vision; Disfunction within the business model (conflict between channel partners and direct sales); Lack of R&D/ new product investment; Large Gaps in solution portfolio.

    Advice to Management

Replace the dictatorial approach and embrace Daiken's People Centered Management philosophy. You need to trust the professionals that are driving the innovation and success. AAF also needs a stronger bond with the community- there is a limited commitment to being a "good corporate citizen".
