    Pros

competitive pay. Apart from that I really do not see anything else positive

    Cons

Very unprofessional work etiquette, old school technology, bad management, no culture whatsoever, very unreliable

    Advice to Management

Please think about whats right for your company and project overall before making decisions. Try to hire people with a better attitude instead of thinking who can get the job done in 10 mins.

    Pros

Good pay. Overtime double time and triple time. Benefits

    Cons

Lay offs every other year. Affirmative action runs rampant and it shows in the quality of the trucks.

    Advice to Management

    Lower affirmative action #'s

    Pros

Global company, good benefits, great people, great product!

    Cons

At times too big, and slow, but management is trying to change reaction times and move into the future from an employee satisfaction, and management perspective.

I have been working at Daimler Trucks North America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits when working. Fast paced work. Feel pride at the site of finished products driving down the road.

    Cons

Lay offs are frequent. I'm heading into my seventh lay off from this employer in less than 14 years. Basically, you will rotate between working at least 50 hours a week (often more) and getting laid off; sometimes just long enough to start job searching, others may be for years.

    Advice to Management

Value employees more. T-shirts don't mean a lot if you keep getting laid off every time you think you have some stability.

    Pros

Cares about employees, provides necessary resources

    Cons

Tends to assign too much workload, high expectations

    Advice to Management

Better workload distribution, more visibility to wage bands, better salary match to job responsibilities

    Pros

DTNA would be good for those fresh out of school and just need the work experience. Leave as soon as you can once hired. Otherwise, just avoid this place. Doesn't matter which location.

    Cons

Culture, values, vision, equality, fairness, ethics. I saw multiple instances of corruption, backstabbing, stealing, and so on from all levels of management. Official statements were not released if someone got caught and fired, but word would get around about what happened. Plant managers down to white collar and blue collar. There are lots of corrupt people doing dirty things and making poor choices. Managers manipulate date to show results. This place is in trouble.

    Advice to Management

Fly right, do things correctly. Stop making selfish shortsighted choices.

"Really good company to work for. Slightly underpaid and work life balance depends on department."

I have been working at Daimler Trucks North America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, vacation (two weeks of company shutdown with additional 3 weeks vacation), reasonable pay if negotiated well, company continues to try and improve for employees

    Cons

Pay not great but good, work life balance wholly depends on department and manager, could be great and could be bad. A lot of responsibility on employees which can be good and bad.

    Advice to Management

Encourage work life balance. Have an encouraging mentality over a tough mentality.

I worked at Daimler Trucks North America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You'll work with nice people and nice managers (on the personal level). Coffee bar by the river makes you feel great and peaceful. If you just care about the flowers and how nice people are. You also have 5 weeks vacations a year (2 of which you can't move, that is Christmas and 4th of July, and 3 weeks that are floating). You'll be able to get off early Friday afternoon almost every week.

    Cons

No bonus based on company's performance. Very little growth for your career. It's where you'll be coasting your "career" and plateau'd your skills after the first few months of learning if any. Don't expect to learn exceptional skills and become more marketable in the job market. Salaries are not competitive either. In other words, it's a stable job, you can definitely pay your bills, but it's not gonna help you become a better engineer in the industry. It's a dead-end zone for your career. It's not where you'll make money, but it's where you'll enjoy your 5 weeks vacations and solve the same engineering problems all over again. Car industry is not innovative, and don't expect trucks to be any funnier. For Bachelor degrees is fine, but you can get better job if you have a graduate degree.

    Advice to Management

Push innovations and respect new ideas. Pay more to retain talents.
