I worked at Dairy Queen part-time

    Pros

Got to work with many new people. Enjoyed my time while working. Learned skills that can apply to this job.

    Cons

Long hours and bad pay. We should've been payed more or had more employees there with us.

    Advice to Management

They should have more than 5 people running the store at a time. Many people love Dairy Queen so they need to work more people at a time.

    Pros

I loved working with other people and getting to know everyone that came in the door.

    Cons

Some of the managers did not do such a good job but there are new managers which means new rules.

    Advice to Management

Work as hard as you can and you might get there eventually.

I have been working at Dairy Queen part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very easy, not stressful in the winter months, good pay, fun to work there, boss works really well with scheduling, good job for high school students (especially those with busy schedules), good hours

    Cons

Stressful in the summer solely because more people come in and are demanding food, but that's the food industry for you. Dealing with the negative people sucks at times.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time

    Pros

The coworkers! Oh my goodness they were lovely, I adored working with everyone. I worked as a crew member in the ice cream section (Chill), and it was my first job. It gets extremely hectic in the summer, especially weekends. This job teaches you how to multitask and work under pressure. The managers were all pretty cool except one. You get 50% off food on your break, too. I'm glad I chose this place as my first job.

    Cons

The labor- it was horrendous. Drive-thru would get piled up with cars, and often times there was only one person in the Chill section, sometimes up to three if we were lucky, and I had to work in overdrive to get orders out on time. Cleaning up the Chill section was gross, especially taking down the ice cream machine. You got splattered no matter how much you tried to be careful. It's a messy job, but it's fast food, so you can't expect much. Management could get annoying sometimes (they wouldn't help you if they saw you struggling, they'd only help if they felt like it) but that didn't bother me as much. You were also expected to carry out a huge amount of duties in a short amount of time. Pay was also not worth it for the amount of labor we did. We started at minimum wage- I worked there for eight months and only got a raise of 50 cents- so I was paid $7.75. That's why I left. Standing on your feet for hours was also a con. I'm pretty tiny and there was a lot of lifting involved in that job; it gave me lower back problems.

    Advice to Management

Pay your coworkers enough for them to take care of themselves!

I worked at Dairy Queen full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Strong compensation package, company car, tools such as laptop computer and cell phone,

    Cons

High store count, large geographical area, company pushing more of a supervisor role than a consultant role.

    Advice to Management

Either lower store count and decrease geographical area or return to consultant role.
