I worked at Dairy Queen full-time

    Pros

Get discounts on food and free cake for your birthday

    Cons

They change/adjust your hours for payroll, they cut your hours for no reasons, they don't properly train you and disrespect you in front of the whole crew and customers.

    Advice to Management

They need to go back to school and study the proper classes on how to run a successful business. They need to separate their personal and business life.

I have been working at Dairy Queen part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and good pay during summer time. Certain coworkers are able to get along with one another. Manager is understanding when it comes to family issues.

    Cons

Hour cuts without explanation and unfair treatment. Will cut hours without explanation and will give them to coworkers who have been there longer, regardless of who works harder. Instead of explaining issues calmly, will yell and scream.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to how franchise owners treat their staff.

    Pros

    ....?
Some of the customers are nice...

    Cons

    HORRIBLE pay!
    HORRIBLE management!!!!!!
Mary- the GM treats all of her employees poorly! Yelling at them infront of customers, in the back and over head set all the time!
the GM also micromanages every move you make!
The GM suggests that we SHORT CUSTOMERS ABOUT 1oz LESS THAN CORPRATE HAS ASSIGNED AND IF YOU DONT, well you get yelled at again!
There are MANY older men there that make sexually horassing statements including things about "16 year old white girls" and how "hot" they are... These men are over 20 years of age and are hired onto our crew only to be fired a few days after.... The management will also make you stay sometimes until 1am to finish closing the store, the employees I worked with had NO work ethic at all!
This was a VERY negative environment!
If you are looking for a job that pays a few cents over minimum wage only to get yelled at, well then this may be a good fit for you-- if you are looking for a job to succeed at and feel important and needed, this DEFINATELY isn't the place for you!!!
This store does not handle anything professionally, this includes breaking laws of retaliation and sexual horassment! For a teenage girl, this job is not one you will feel comfortable in!
There have been many people in the last few weeks quitting because of how terribly negative of an environment this truly is. I would rather have no money in my pocket than be treated like dirt for doing my best at a job.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better!
Quit denying the idea that you don't have the owners pone number so people can report this behavior!
QUIT YELLING AT THE EMPLOYEES- expecially infront of customers!
TRAIN THE EMPLOYEES IF YOU WANT THINGS YOUR WAY!
Simply respecting your employees can get you a lot further than you are right now.
KEEP THE STIRE CLEAN. The entire store is filthy!
Quit micromanaging the people that know how to do their jobs!
