    Pros

Its a place where you can make minimum wage or get paid to do a lot of work for 25 thousand dollars a year. if poverty is a lifestyle that you want feel free and apply. If there is any reason to work there i would not know what those are. Dairy queen is a place that new people to the country can see what america is really about. long gruelling hours are the norm but for seven dollars an hour you may as well collect change on the side of the road. overall dairy queen can change someones life.

    Cons

long hours horrible shifts greasy messy one uniform that you never wash

    Advice to Management

    Close the worthless store

    Pros

Let's face it, in this economy, even a basic minimum-wage job might be better than nothing at all. If you can respect the institution it serves as not only an ice-cream shoppe, but a point of nostalgia for older customers (usually in their 50s or 60s) or parents with young children, then it might give you a sense of pride.

    Cons

A highly broken chain of command depending on who the local manager/owner is. Unsanitary conditions. High accident rates around equipment and unsafe surfaces. Frequently rude customers. Deteriorating, obsolete technology makes doing one's job more difficult and less efficient.

    Advice to Management

Please, invest in newer and less-complicated register systems. A few non-slip floor mats and stain-resistant flooring material would do wonders for the place as well.

    Pros

    employee discount on meals
free ice cream cake for your birthday
you don't have to pay or your uniform
    young staff

    Cons

young staff who are often not trained correctly by management
cleaning duties are not adequately divvied up
    absentee management
    rules are not enforced

    Advice to Management

management needs to be more involved with their employees and discuss rules/etiquette/duties with the entire team and most importantly follow through with the agreed upon consequences

    Pros

They hire at 15 (well, mine did)
Some co-workers are fun, I mean come on, who isn't happy around ice cream?
    Parking

    Cons

    Oh GEEZUS
    1. Pain in the butt to deal with management including hours, working a different position, or asking a question. If you don't know something, my manager makes me feel like an incompetent reptile than answering the question
    2. Some co-workers are irritating and disrespectful.
    3. You're expected to just know what to do.
    4. Way too many things expected out of each person.
    5. Managers that don't know what to do.
    6. No opportunity for advancement
    7. NO RAISES
    8. EVER
    9. Ridiculously disrespectful customers

    Advice to Management

Treat employees the way they deserve to be treated. Fire the lazy ones, support the hard-workers. Or, on some simpler terms, care about your employees just a little bit.

    Pros

Being able to make a famous DQ cone

    Cons

"lacks the adequate equipment and employees to quickly serve customers"(company had only 1 drivethru window, how can you blend icecream in a loud blender and hear the customer at the drive-thru? Then you have to press down on the speaker button, which was very staticky, to hear the customer meaning you can't multitask while taking orders.
"only two people working on drivethru, 1 person responsible for taking orders and making icecream, while all the other person does is takes cash" (this is a negative because the person had to stop what they were doing to take the order then go go back to making sometimes 5 blizzards per customer, yea the drivethru was backed up!)
"only a half a day of training " ( in canada and in some states they train for weeks thats why they are a able to successfully franchise) it takes a while to master the DQ cone
"there is a new icecream flavor to make almost every month with 4 different ingredients in it and almost 20 flavors in all to remember " (i would often skimp on ingredients and hope the customer didn't notice)
"the owner made us clean like we were professional janitors"
"had to turn in a doctor's excuse to take off "(would you rather me come in coughing on the customer's food, cause i'm not going to pay $25 for a doctor to tell me I have a cold?)
"couldn't get a discount on food not for your family or for yourself"

    Advice to Management

Invest in your company and in employee training please work on organizational skills.
