I worked at Daktronics as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Travel the country. Get access to many fun venues. Great work experience. Great opportunity to stay on full-time in Corporate offices.

    Cons

Difficult to get a regional sales job if you are a corporate intern, would need to stay in SD for a year or more to have a chance to get out of the corporate offices. Long hours, but you will make overtime.

I have been working at Daktronics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I think they truly care about their employees. They have flexibility (hours, location), make an excellent product for cool customers (NFL, McDonalds) and there are great coworkers.

    Cons

Though I feel overall Daktronics is an excellent employer, it's really all about one's supervisor. If you a current employee and you don't like your supervisor, your not going to like Daktronics. Not all supervisors here are great but many are.

I have been working at Daktronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is becoming more competitive, decent benefits, great PTO program, schedule flexibility

    Cons

Politics are terrible, engineers dictate everything, some departments are treated better than others and the pay differences confirms that.

I have been working at Daktronics part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great mentors. Nice new equipment and development stations. Variety of software developer positions and languages used giving opportunities to sharpen an array of skills.

    Cons

Some full time won't give the time of day for students and their work, can be frustrating. Depending on the group you work in, the software and tech you maintain could be very old as a student. Sometimes management seems more worries about pushing software out the door than creating a quality product. Low pay starting if you do not have many credits (get paid more per credit completed with an A or B.).

I have been working at Daktronics (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with and clean and comfortable environment to work in. Lots of different opportunities with the ability to move around within the company. Great work/ home balance.

    Cons

They provide employees with low pay, low raises even after promises of improved pay. The company also has poor health and other benefits for employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees and taking their advice on procedures. Good managers listen and are flexible to employees needs.
