I worked at Dal-Tile (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Family Environment. You get to know your co workers and community is promoted from top to bottom.

    Cons

Team members across work groups not being familiar with others requirements which at times creates a disconnect and delays product movement.

    Advice to Management

New policy implementation is not always consistently enforced, which makes it hard to create work arounds in order to deliver product to clients on time. Client expectations and delivery capabilities need to be more aligned.

    Pros

Great people to work with every day. A lot of long tenured employees. You do Shane to opportunity for career advancement.

    Cons

Mohawk insurance has a high deductible. Health clinics onsite help. The plans change every year and you always expect your doctor to not be included the next year.

    Advice to Management

Take care of employees better. Your location is really bad in pleasant grove and you need to do something to keep people interested.

    I worked at Dal-Tile full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The past 4 years were really good until lately, where the IT department has become a bit of a mess. We needed help but the interview process is so outlandish that we never wound up hiring any help (.NET, SQL, SAP, etc.)

    Cons

The quality of project control has become so muddled that often times you will be spinning your wheels waiting, while upper management is hounding you to finish impossible projects. It is a very tense environment for being a software development department.

    Advice to Management

Hire somebody instead of waiting to find Superman. We interview so many people but never hire any of them, although the candidates are qualified. Go back to the days when it was a great company to work for.
