    I have been working at Dallas County full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    You know that your helping the youth improve their lives.

    There's not really any other positives to working here. Seriously.

    Cons

    Never question management or administration. Never step out of line. Never innovate, be creative, or have an original thought.

    You will regret it.

    Advice to Management

    Management won't listen to advise.

    Very good place to work, people are nice to work with.

    No cons I worked there for 6 years.

    Advice to Management

    The management still is excellent, keep it up.

    I have been working at Dallas County full-time

    Pros

    The county has really good insurance benefits, holidays off and PTO. There are always opportunities to move up since there are always vacancies.

    Cons

    Poor management, poor pay, overworked, extremely high turnover rate and toxic environment. The employees in certain departments are far from professional. Subordinates are more qualified than management. Will go several YEARS without a pay increase.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees because many of them have better ideas on how to improve the programs. Stop hiring overqualified employees just to turn around and underpay and devalue them. They are more valuable than you think.

    Pros

    NONE!! Don't even deserve one star!!!

    Cons

    Grants management is TERRIBLE! There isn't any training, only to look at the previous report and figure it out. Top management is terrible so of course supervisors are the same. Supervisors are sneaky and only out for their personal gain. Benefits are terrible for new employees. Micromanagement style. If they do not like you, they will pick on everything you do to force you to leave or find a way to fire you. Top management doesn't care what goes on or how people are treated. Supervisors do what they please and enforce rules of their choosing and to whom they choose. They fire people who don't deserve it and keep those who do. Management hates answering questions so they tell you to ask your lead or another employee. Worst place I've ever worked. I will tell anyone to run as fast as you can.

    Advice to Management

    Leave, replace current management, learn how to be a manager!

    Pros

    A lot of room for career advancement.

    Cons

    Poorly organized. Too much competition between the shifts. It's like crabs in a barrel.

    Pros

    Some really great people who have been there a long time, experienced and made some great lasting friendships.

    Cons

    Total lack of leadership from sheriff on down.. Racial tension and favoritism toward Hispanics and blacks and bias and unfair treatment toward whites.

    Advice to Management

    Stop listening to the wrong people and do a written anonymous survey if necessary to get to the heart of the real issues and what is causing the major low morale problems. I'd u keep listening to the "yes" people they will only continue to tell you what you want to hear ...not the truth. You are the Captain of the Titanic and would rather pretend the ship is not sinking.
