I worked at Dana Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been working at Dana Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great company, friendly environment.

    Cons

We are Very busy in my department, sometimes stretched thin.

    Advice to Management

As we continue to acquire and merger, be mindful to add additional support staff until we have the new locations fully integrated into our systems and processes. We can be stretched thin keeping our daily schedules plus adding special projects to support new sites.

I worked at Dana Corporation full-time

    Pros

Amazing coworkers, good cafeteria (if johnny cooked it, you'll love it), some positions very rewarding, competitive pay, extremely high deductible health plan is free (good as long as your invincible)

    Cons

Benefits were good when I started, within a year the Obamacare blame game came and they stripped everything. Instead of building a bunch of stupid tour sites they could focus a little more on their employees.
Upper management will talk constantly about how good the company is doing then give a poor raise coupled with a depreciated bonus. I even heard that when the company exceeds their goals they will change the performance bonus target. Almost every other company I've heard of pays on the original metric and pays extra for over performing.
Management is a joke, everything seems to be based on punishing mistakes instead of encouraging employees to not make them in the first place. Everything is write-up this or performance review that.
They play music and white noise through the PA system all day, every day. So unless you like Sirius satellite pop and country, you're probably going to get annoyed very quickly.
Work life balance can be very bad in certain areas of engineering, in others it's not an issue at all.
Seemed like the only way to get promoted was to threaten to leave.
Toledo Toledo Toledo. The city is a sad blown out bunghole of Detroit. A truly miserable place to live with almost nothing to do but drink is a dirty bar or eat "famous" garbage food.

    Advice to Management

Shape up. Stop training employees to deal with conflict and keep your managers from starting it in the first place.

I worked at Dana Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Shut down in December. Decent benefits, but healthcare did not cover many key medications.

    Cons

Culture, no development programs for managers, very poor best practice establishment, lack of teamwork. There is no One Dana.

    Advice to Management

Get real management and adopt a culture that is collaborative. Engage in learning programs whether online, seminar, or offsite. Out of any Fortune 500 firm I've been involved with this had the worst atmosphere, especially within Finance.
